I was enticed with the whole "financial freedom" hype where passive income should equal or greater than your expenses since I was in college that I started investing in Mutual Funds pinagipunan ko yun instead sa gadgets, studied stocks, and investments, also read Kiyosaki's books

Ngayon nagwowork na siyempre I invest na from my salary.

Pero lately narerealize ko will it be all worth it? I mean beginning to realize that "financial freedom" is an impossible dream.

Kahit nga mga people like Warren Buffet, kaya ba nilang iwan yung business nila ng isang taon?
Kiyosaki himself, can he even leave his investments and businesses behind?

I dont know thinking about this dapat na lang pala inenjoy ko na lang ngayon, naiinggit ako sa mga friends ko na nageenjoy sila sa present.
Tutal may life insurance naman at health insurance like Intellicare or Medicard

Ano pong masasabi niyo? I am open to your opinions if you think the other way around

.. :fight1:

yes I know but my point is Financial Freedom is just an impossible dream, no one can really achieve it, be it employer or employee. The ability to gain money without working with a job or handling a business is too good to be true

Your mind is obviously confused.

You opened up a thread to ask a question, yet on your post above, it seems you have already made up your mind, that financial freedom is impossible for YOURSELF.

Ano ba talaga kuya?

it should be balance dapat eenjoy mo ang present life mo pero mag invest ka rin para sa future life mo. mas maganda pag bata pa nag uumpisa na mag invest para sa future kesa naman pagtanda at may pamilya na tsaka naman kayod ng kayod. pwede naman inde balance e pwede puro enjoyment muna ngaun kc bata tapos pagtanda tsaka magpakahirap. o kaya naman puro invest muna ngayon para pagtanda makakapag enjoy na kc di na masyado mahihirapan.

Wala ka ba nakuhang considerable gains mula dun sa investments mo since college? Generally, in investing, a nice sum of money is already more than enough compensation for all the delayed gratifications and sacrifices you made earlier in your life.

I-enjoy mo din -- upgrade your home, buy jewelry, take your family out to dinner to some place expensive. Baka gastusin mo lang din lahat yun trying to get your health back. Example of a gratification you can delay: you can choose to travel later in life because those countries aren't going anywhere anyway. Example of a gratification you can choose to spend on now: spend for those skydiving classes you always wanted to take because it's better to go skydiving when you're young, fearless and don't have dependents.

And earning money without holding a job or running a business is too good to be true? Ay, darling, all you need is to read through the threads here on PMT to see that not only is it possible, but many are already doing it. This earning money without a job or a business is also more commonly referred to as passive income, which you yourself mentioned in your post.

Mahn! You're just bragging  :p It's wonderful that you started early.

You haven't been tracking your investment to find out if all that crap you read can be true or not?  Maybe doing a bit of profit-taking or ramping up the contribution when investments are considered cheap?

^That's Easy Street. Question---how severely were you a cheapskate to yourself that you now have that sentiment? How about keeping all of the above means that you mentioned, add just 10% on top of those for savings, and the rest of your income, use it to have a life worth living. This is it. The one life you live. It is not a dress rehearsal. Get a life!  :D

Meron po.

Buy Dividend Stocks... Don't go into Mutual Funds.. Classical Examples were: TEL, SLF, CHIB, GLO, MFC (even SMC though highly leveraged siya) So far base on my tracking... Since 2008 they never missed a year without declaring dividends. :applause:

Lastly, its not about building Financial Freedom only.. Its about building wealth, building up your retirement portfolio, or even future needs like education of your kids, etc.

Once you achieve these goals.. Financial Freedom will follow suit.

Anu ba gusto mo mangyari? Ako? I want to live a much more relaxed life in the future as early as possible.. But I don't have any plans to RETIRE EARLY. If possible semi-retirement lang til mamatay. Except siguro pag mag full time service ako for the Lord, Church or Missions (Dun mag retire na ako sa work)...

Financial freedom or financial indepence is isimply having the means to maintain the lifestyle you choose without having to actively work.

It is a state of economic well-being, where your personal investments or savings are generating investment income sufficient to cover your expenses… and the type of lifestyle you want.

Yeah I was confused whether financial freedom is true or not. But I'm beginning to believe it's not true and impossible to achieve

What's "mayabang" about telling that I started early? there are tons who do save and invest early too.

When I said my friends "enjoyed the present" I meant
Buying the latest gadgets and out of town trips with the barkada (barkada only)

I do go on out of town trips with my family, and also when the company has outings
pero iba pa rin kung nabibili mo kung anong gadget gusto mo at kapag barkada kasama mo on out of town trips

Gusto ko sanang magvolunteer work and other stuff, I don't intend to sit around the house all day

I had plans if ever I be financially free
but now I'm beginning to realize those are impossible as I realize being fin free is impossible

Financial Freedom:
Passive income (investments/assets that earn money with no participation or work on your part) equal or greater than expenses

Goal: Achieve financial freedom
Simplified lang ito, I've set "SMART" goals but I've just summarized it into that
