Title: Vegetable Trading (Buy and Sell of Vegetables)
Post by: atan8180 on Jan 12, 2017, 06:47 AM

2. Kelangan po ba freezer truck ung bibilhin ko o pede nman ung open lng kc dedeliver din nman within the day ung goods?

1. I BELIEVE you DON'T need a specific permit for VEGETABLES
but for LORRIES.
LOOK UP!  Many cities FORBID the heavier double wheeler/axel lorries in part of the cities.

2. Not freezer for fresh vegs, but perhaps it can be an advantage with some chilled.

3. Sure there are some organisations, but I don't know which for Vegs.

4. Well. Some sell only cash,
some sell with credit.
It's much easier to sell with credit, but it's much easier to never get paid then too   :)

5. Prices can fluctuate much depending of season, weather and region.
In this website you can see some PASSED time statistics.  http://countrystat.psa.gov.ph/ (http://countrystat.psa.gov.ph/)   both farmgate, wholesale and retail prices. It's some hard navigated when switching group. Here is an example of Fruits  http://countrystat.psa.gov.ph/?cont=10&pageid=1&ma=K20PRFPC (http://countrystat.psa.gov.ph/?cont=10&pageid=1&ma=K20PRFPC)

This is slow and link to above, but is easy navigated  http://data.gov.ph/catalogue/dataset/farmgate-prices-by-region-and-by-province (http://data.gov.ph/catalogue/dataset/farmgate-prices-by-region-and-by-province)

6. Well. For instance
problem by not having needed permits
not get pay for credits
trafic accident
lorry breaks
the vegs get bad before sold...

Do you plan to transport only own grown vegs?
If you try to become a trader, that's very hard in some places by an established trader have more or less monopoly for instance by the farmers are in dept to the trader/buddies to him   :(

I'm bad at remembering names, but a Filipino succeeded by grow vegs in south part somewhere at Luzon island and transport to Manila. Grown a bit at own land but mainly at leased land.

Isn't 22k per hectare in lease uncommonly high in your region?
(In forestry get the land owner only 10 % of the harvest value normaly and that's much less work needing, so for vegs I suppouse less percent is fair.)

Think of many vegs and rootcrops realy dislike floods, make them rutten.

You need to talk to your prospects and let them know your best price offer. If they agree with your price (wholesale) then you can discuss the payment terms (cash or credit)

Thanks for sharing such detailed information with regards to vegetable buying and selling, this is very useful. It is very necessary to have a thorogh business plan with details of how you intend to acquire your products and how you'll distribute them, so that you don't end up with losses since veges are perishable.
