[3rd Quarter GDP] Philippines fastest-growing economy in SE Asia

The Philippines remains as Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing economy, after the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) announced earlier today that the Philippine economy grew 7.0% in the 3rd quarter. The country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose 7.0% in the July-September period from a year earlier, down from the 7.6% GDP growth in 2nd quarter.

[2013 GDP] Philippines still fastest-growing in SE Asia

The Philippines has recently (and repeatedly) been dubbed as Asia’s newest “investment darling”. Last year, CNBC Asia tagged the Philippines as “Asia’s New Darling of Investors” after the country became the fastest-growing economy in Southeast Asia and Philippine stocks posted a Top 10 performance in 2012 compared to other stock exchanges worldwide.

Citi-Knight Frank Wealth Report: Economic power will be in Asia

Asia is set to become the “economic center of gravity” by the year 2050, with four out of 10 largest economies and 7 out of 10 fastest growing economies all coming from that region. That is according to the “2012 Wealth Report” published by Citi Private Bank and real estate consultancy firm Knight Frank.
