The Twitter TV show!

If everything goes as planned, Twitter — the 140-character microblogging service — will soon be on TV.

As reported by Yahoo:

[Twitter will] develop an unscripted series based on the site, which invites 140-character postings from members around the world.

The show would harness Twitter to put players on the trail of celebrities in an interactive, competitive format.

Twitter is a free social networking service that enables users to send and read other users’ updates known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length displayed on the user’s profile page and delivered to their followers or other users who have subscribed to them.

Unfortunately, no details yet have been announced as to the format of the show. The only thing we know is that it will have “ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in a revolutionary competitive format.”

Wouldn’t that create paparazzis out of Twitter fans?

Just hoping they don’t end up like the Hollywood celebrities in this funny YouTube video about Twitter.

    - I agree. Talk about adding more problems for celebrities. ^^ I hope the celebrities will be well compensated.

Question: If someone would offer to “tweet” the life of the people behind Pinoymoneytalk, would you guys agree?

For me, being a Twitter user, this is a bad idea. In the first place I hate reality TV shows – now they are bombarding even internet websites with their nitwit ideas?

@Pinoy Entrepreneur, I don’t think the people behind PMT would want to tweet their lives. Shy sila e :)

@agentmango, ganun ambilis naman nila i-refute yung balita. Nde pa nag-iinit ang mga tao sa prospect ng Twitter TV, sasabihin nila na wala palang ganun. Hehe.

@Reel Advice, I do think Twittering on TV can be exploited by some people so if ever a Twitter TV show is pursued, they must ensure that the privacy and security of people will be protected.

@ice_hot, looking forward to what you are offering! :)

@Sikap Pinoy, twitter is indeed a good way to advertise but you need to have a lot of followers for your advertisement to be effective. Otherwise, you’re just sending a message that won’t be heard by a lot of people.

@elmot, they probably would but the link in agentmango’s comment says that Twitter denied a TV show is in the works. Sayang…
