just want to ask lang, for example ang offer price ng ABS (ABS-CBN Broadcasting) ay 17.50 at ang bid price ay, 17.00, pwede ko bang bilhin ung stock at the price lower than its offer price, for example bilhin ko siya ng 17.00 instead sa 17.50 pero at 1,000 volume?

thanks.

@jhe: pwede po yun. your 1000 share bid at 17.00 will just be added to the current bids. pero mag-aantay ka pa kung mama-match yung bid mo na 'to. pero kung gusto mo na ma-match agad yung bid mo, buy on the lowest offer price :)

how about yung commissions?  may diff ba if trading online (COL, BPI, etc), against trading using a live broker?

Ping,
depende ata sa broker(live & online). i think it would be best if we check out the websites & ask live brokers as well.

My hunch, mas mura cguro pag online; although mukhang mas advantageous pag naka-live broker kasi mas personal & we can maybe get some tips/insider info's as well (unlike pag online brokerage, less to none ang human interaction)  :D

Thanks for the reply.

To get the best of both worlds, trade some live, and some online.

Live, the human interaction factor, plus the "tips"

But online, less cost maybe (esp if day trading), and faster supposedly?

Hi guys,

I'm planning on opening an account with BPI Trade since I'm also going to have a BPI savings account...

And I was wondering,

1.) Can you withdraw and deposit funds to your account without restrictions?
(Taking into consideration that you need to maintain 5k in the account)

2.) How does BPI Trade handles dividends. I gather if it is cash then its automatically
credited to the account? Are dividends taxable? What about stock dividends? Are those
taxable? Does BPI charge fees for stock dividends?

3.) I want to get a 2nd opinion... Does BPI charge monthly fees like these one?
"Depository Maintenance fee is due for shares lodged by an investor in the PDTC at the rate of .01% per annum or .000833% per month based on the average market price of the shares lodged with PDTC"

Thanks
 :thankyou:

Hi diamond, Happy New Year!
Thanks for taking time to answer my questions

Before I post my follow up questions, do you
mind me asking why you haven't attempted to
recover your password/account? Is BPI Trade
not good in terms of its features? Or have
you tried but aren't getting anywhere?(Bulok
service nila?)

1.) Yes, that's what I meant, transfer between
the savings account and BPI Trade accoun

2.) a.) Stock Dividends -> No Fees
b.) What's the tax rate for dividends?

Thanks

Good questions. Hehe. Well, for one di ako nagmamadali. I'm not planning to enter a trade, just yet. Besides I buy for the long-term. I don't go check my portfolio everyday, I read the newspaper or watch the news for PSE index. And also, naabutan na ng christmas, at new year. Baka pati valentines, di natin alam.  :watchuthink:

The same thing happened to me also before. Hehe. Kasi nga I don't "trade" actively. At hindi po dahil me memory gap.  :hihi: As far as I could remember (kasi matagal na ok, hehe) they were able to fix it in a matter of hours.

I didn't care check other online brokerage when I started in individual stocks. I chose BPItrade for the convenience of only having to deposit funds through either of the two accounts before I can start trading. Because if I'm not mistaken other firms would require you to go to their office or fill up a deposit form to be given to a certain bank, etc.

But I think you should investigate first, before signing up on a particular online brokerage. For one, compare the fees/commissions they charge/get for the trade. Check if they offer additional services/features, say stock charts, buy-sell recommendations, etc. Better yet, look for those which offer trial accounts. And see for yourself which offers the best package.

As for the tax, I don't know. :hihi: What I'm sure of is "pang-kape" lang ang nakukuha kong dividend.Wahaha!  :watchuthink:

Happy new year every one. Trading foreign exchange is too risky one should take care while trading this market. The market becomes more risky for a trader when he puts his whole amount for trading and waits for the market to recovery so that he can make money.

hi, newbie trader here po...

planning on opening an account with bpi trade... actually for some time na... kaya lang due to some negative feedbacks from a number of forums/blogs, nagdadalawang isip ako... i'm still considering it though kasi nagloloko yung philstocks na site ngayon, now that they're using a new module... mas mabuti na po ba ang bpitrade compared before o the same pa rin [mabagal, may glitches, etc]?

P5000 lang naman yon. actually, you can use it. basta have a MDA of P5K, okey ka na.  That should not be a problem.
