What is your experience with Xoom.com? Anybody using this service to have money sent here to the country?

I found out money can be picked up at any Equitable-PCI bank, and that one does not need to open an account.

In a way, the account serves as a document to register the transaction, right? And somehow it serves as protection for one.

Between this mode of picking up money and having it sent to my account, I would opt for the latter.

What do you think?

Reliable. I have used it for several times already. I even earned from using XOOM thru its affiliate program.  Just last week, I received my check commission.

Xoom has a facility allowing non paypal holder to receive funds from a paypal source. If you're into ecommerce you can also create your online payment using Xoom's payment facility.

I just clicked my way to the site.

If there are applications and all that for transfers from e-gold to my account, I would rather remain with my present mode. Sa PGX na lang ako diretso. This will shorten the route and number of people involved. Anyway, sa atin naman ang PGX, ano?

XOOM is ok! I have been a receiver for more than a year now and I encountered no problems whatsoever.. :)

In my case I always pick-up the money at any Equitable-PCI bank branch.. I also tried the other one, direct deposit to my account but aside from the clearing time from XOOM, another day is added for deposting it to my other bank.

I heard of xoom also! And maybe we can get more customers in PGX if you add xoom to your merchant list for accepting Non Filipino Buyers!

I tried it pero lagi cancelled transaction. Nakakaasar! Actually E-Check ng mom(Bank of America) ang giangamit ko. BAkit kaya ayaw ma-transfer? I checked the routing number and account number okay naman.

Tinutulungan ko sana mom ko maghanap ng way para ma-send ng money sa Philippines. A bit technologically challenged siya. Hehe. Mashado kasi mahal sa Western Union.

Nakakaasar customer service ng Xoom. Everytime nage-email ako sa kanial walang coherent na answer.

I asked kung bakit cancelled yung transaction. Sabi lang sakin hidni pwede Intra-Philippines. Eh from California to Philippines ginagawa ko. Hmmm. Ako kasi nag-aacess nung account hindi mom ko. Dapat ba somebody from California pa ang mag-tratransfer? Naaasar na ako. D kasi ako makahanap ng way an magsend dito sa Philippines using echeck.

Baka sa IP address nila dine-determine. If you want, you can try accessing the account through a proxy pero baka bawal din sa kanila kung free/anonymous proxy ang gagamitin mo.

tama, mejo malaki mababawas sayo, saka 24 hrs. din ang transfer.  better yet use PMT Paypal account.  kung gusto ninyo transfer from paypal.

hmm sinubukan ko tong xoom for accepting paypal payments in exchange for my e-gold kaso lahat ng transactions nacancel di ko lam kung bakit. Kaya yun kinlose ko nlng account ko!

For us, very reliable ang xoom.com. We've been using this for almost 3 years now. Mas mura compared sa Western Union. Kalimitan, ang mga nagpapadala sa amin via xoom, credit card gamit.

Nakakatawa lang, bossing ko pa nagtuturo sa kanila kung paano.  Just last week, nag-send sa amin ng payment ang isang 80 years old client via xoom....

Medyo nahirapan nga lang makasunod. My husband had to make a number of calls to her to give instruction hanggang pati mismong xoom customer care, tinawagan na rin niya. Tapos, pati client namin tumawag din....

Sa wakas, natapos ang transakyon!  :rolleyes:

Liban lang sa kasong ito, k na lahat. :thumbsup2
