Filipino singer Charice on Glee Season 2

It always delights us to hear stories of Filipinos succeeding and making it big not only locally but also internationally. That’s why if rumors are true that the Philippines’ international star Charice Pempengco will soon be part of the popular TV show Glee, we’re one in congratulating her for this great feat.

The Inquirer reported that the Philippine manager of Charice confirmed that she will join — take note, not just appear as guest but will be part of — the cast of Fox Network’s hit TV series Glee.

“Yes, it’s true, Charice will soon join Glee,” her Philippine manager, Grace Mendoza, confirmed to the Inquirer. “And not just as a guest, but as part of the cast in a new season.”

Charice fits perfectly as a “misfit” in William McKinley High School. If we are to think of a possible role, Charice may be cast as a “short, diminutive exchange student from Asia with a big voice.”

Update: A few weeks after this rumor was deemed a hoax, Charice herself confirmed that she will indeed be seen in Season 2 of Glee. It’s not known yet, though, whether she will only be a guest star or will join as part of the main cast. Last we heard, she will appear as an exchange student (we got this right!) who will give Rachel Berry competition to the point that it will lead Rachel to contemplate of suicide!
