The top rated US game show Deal or No Deal and host Howie Mandel are going around the world as it showcases three countries in its Deal or No Deal Around the World special edition.

Mandel and the contestants stopped by the Philippines, Estonia, and South Africa and taped episodes of the highly rated US game show.

In the Philippines, Mandel’s counterpart Kris Aquino graced the show and exchanged banter with Mandel and the contestants. Here’s a video of the first part featuring Mandel welcoming American televiewers to the show taped in the Philippines and Aquino explaining the differences between the Filipino and American versions of Deal or No Deal.

A 13-year-old boy bullied at school over his love for opera is being tipped to become this season’s winner of the UK reality talent show Britain’s Got Talent.

Andrew Johnston last week sang an emotional rendition of Pie Jesu , a performance which moved judges and the audience to tears.

The next William Hung?

Filipino-American Renaldo Lapuz is now taking the world by storm following his performance on the TV show American Idol Season 7 where he amused judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson with his “We’re Brothers Forever” song.

I found a clip of an old (but not so old) episode of Judge Judy where the judge berates an eBay seller who deceivingly posted advertisements for cellphones when, in fact, she was selling mere pictures of those cellphones!

Should we rise up again?

After the Desperate Housewives brouhaha, here comes another US TV show "insulting" the Filipinos.

In its September 18 episode, US political satire program The Daily Show with Jon Stewart aired a five-minute segment entitled "Is the US Ready for a Woman President?" and showed a photograph of Corazon Aquino, the Philippines' first woman President, with the word "Slut!" and three hand-drawn hearts across her face.

Aside from Aquino, the skit also showed photographs of other popular women leaders each with a gag line. Former Israeli prime minister Golda Meir's photo was shown with the phrase "Oy!" while former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was shown in a Photoshopped leg-spreading photo (a la Britney Spears) with the line "Ooops!"

While the photos were being shown, correspondent Samantha Bee delivered the following line: "Other countries had girl leaders for years and while Golda Meir may have fended off Egypt, Corazon Aquino faced down dictators, Margaret Thatcher kicked communist's ass, still they are women."

The mob is at it again. Filipinos have recently forwarded emails, posted blog entries, and signed online petitions decrying the supposedly “racist” remark that Teri Hatcher’s character in the US TV show Desperate Housewives uttered in last week’s season premiere.

Okay, before we go any further, can I check those diplomas because I just wanna make sure that they’re not from some med school in the Philippines.

It's Edu, not Kris. As host of the local version of the "1 vs. 100" game show, that is.

It was rumored several weeks ago that Kris Aquino, currently the host of "Kapamilya Deal or No Deal," was set to become the game master of ABS-CBN's newest game show, "1 vs. 100".

Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) reported yesterday, however, that an ABS-CBN insider revealed that "Game KNB?" host Edu Manzano will be the one to host the new game show. The show is set to start on August 25.

Chris Noth, who played Sarah Jessica Parker’s love interest on HBO’s “Sex and the City,” is slated to reprise his role in a feature film spun from the long-running TV series.

Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon will also reprise their roles for the romantic comedy, to be distributed by New Line Cinema in association with HBO.

(A Wikipedia entry previously mentioned that Kris Aquino is hosting the show but this information has now been removed. It was also then confirmed that the show will be renamed "1 Kapamilya laban sa 100" but the same Wikipedia entry now says it's still not final whether the "1 vs. 100" title stays or if it will be changed to "1 Kapamilya laban sa 100" or "1 Kontra 100".)
