Here’s some useful information regarding how to send and receive money through Western Union. Transferring money via Western Union is convenient and easy because once the transaction is approved, the receiver can pick up the money right away (depending on the hours the Agent is open).
In order to facilitate a money transfer or funds pick up, you first need to visit a Western Union agent. Are Paypal bank codes really important?
February 5, 2008
When PayPal first launched the withdraw to bank account feature, it did so without coordinating with local banks in the Philippines.
An obvious proof is that banks did not have a clue what a Bank Code is. The Bank Code is a 9-digit number unique to a Philippine bank that Paypal requires before a bank account can be attached to one’s account.
On the first days of the new withdraw feature, banks such as Metrobank and BPI told their clients a bank code which proved to be different from the official Paypal Philippines Bank Codes.
Paypal withdrawals still pending after 3 weeks
February 4, 2008
Paypal users in the Philippines rejoiced when Paypal started allowing the direct withdrawal of funds to local bank accounts. However, those who initiated a withdrawal before this feature was offered have nothing to be happy about.
For some of them, their withdrawal transactions are still pending after 3 weeks.
In the discussion thread Delayed Paypal withdrawal to EON account, MT_daw wrote:
I did the transaction last January 21, and … it is not yet added to my EON balance.
Jericho added:
My withdrawals (to my EON account) since January 21 is still on pending status as well. I called PayPal and they said it’s the bank’s responsibility to claim that the funds withdrawn has cleared. My theory - UnionBank takes a while to clear it because of the slight increase of the dollar.
FAQ: How to withdraw PayPal to bank account
January 28, 2008
Here are some more information regarding the new withdraw to bank account feature of PayPal that it started offering late last week.
Is there a requirement before I can withdraw funds to my bank account?
Yes, you need to add a bank account and you need to be a verified PayPal member.
How do I add a bank account?
Follow the instructions below.
- Login to your PayPal account and go to Profile > Add or Edit Bank Account.
- Add your bank details. The Bank Code is a unique 9-digit number, however, no official information yet about this is available. We do have a partial list of PayPal Bank Codes in the Philippines but, again, this is only partial and unofficial.
- Review your bank information and click Add Bank Account to confirm.
Make sure that the first and last name on your PayPal account matches the name on your bank account. If it does not, your withdrawal request may be rejected by the bank.
Withdraw PayPal via Xoom from same country — allowed or not?
January 10, 2008
One of our members, Joanna (ani*****@gmail.com), wrote to tell us about Xoom.com’s confusing policy on intra-country transfer of PayPal funds.
Joanna wants to convert her PayPal funds to cash via Xoom. She contacted Xoom to inquire whether it is indeed possible to make an intra-country transfer, that is transfer funds from a PayPal Philippines account to an account holder in the Philippines.
