And here's my "April 2007 Optimization Report" from Google:

Dear Publisher,

Here is your optimization report for the month of April. After an automatic review of your sites, we think you might be able to improve your monetization using the following tips:

You may be filtering ads that monetize well on your site.

Hmm, looks like Google noticed my completely filled-up Competitive Ad Filter list. The Competitive Ad Filter allows publishers to block specific ads from appearing on one's site and in my case, I've disallowed 200 URLs (200 is the current limit) from having their ads appear on PinoyMoneyTalk.com since last year.

I disallowed them because most of them are what is called Made-for-Adsense (MFA) sites. These sites pay very less for every click. So if you have an option to block these sites in order for higher-paying ads to appear on your site, why not grab the opportunity, right?

Of course, you still need to regularly check your Ad Filter list because your strict targeting of ads may also lead to lower number of advertisers on your site, hence, lower Adsense income.
