Leo of MixPH.com emailed me last week asking if I am seeing a decline in Google Adsense earnings. He noted that his week’s income was considerably lower than the previous week.
Actually, I’ve been experiencing this downtrend for a couple of weeks now. Although the site’s page impressions and click-through rates (CTR) were relatively unchanged, my Adsense income during the past weeks was lower compared to the previous months.

Leo and I think this decreasing trend in online Adsense earnings may be caused by the economic crunch that hit the US and other countries. Because of the economic recession, companies are probably starting to reduce their online advertising budget which explains why our Adsense incomes have seen a reduction too.
Early this year, this site also saw a decline in Google earnings. Until now, I don’t know what caused it but the good thing is, it recovered after some months. Anyway I identified several factors that could have caused my Adsense income to go down in that article.
What about you? whew! i thought my google adsense account got hacked or something. talking about online earnings, i was one of those who commented on your entry about Asia Century – that they e-mailed me about removing their banner codes because the merchant “has no money” to pay me. i’ve read your response to my comment just today (after more than a month since I posted it). i will e-mail you details by tomorrow. thank you.
right sir, I thought there was something wrong in my adsense too, haha. Let’s just hope that it will change for the better by the end of the year. ^__^
Contrary to what you guys are experiencing, looks like that we’ll be hitting our all time high this month of December. It’s been going up since September. Probably its mainly because of the industry we’re included in.
One more reason I think is that at this time of the year, online advertisers tend to spend less maybe because the budget were already used up. Let’s hope January will be a different story.
guys, as i write this follow-up comment, all adsense codes are not working. gee, i hope this is just another upgrading that the big G is doing every now and then.
I don’t know whats happening either its a glitch or I just didn’t got a click, I didn’t earn a dime the past 4 days. (dec. 9-13)
Anyway, today (dec 14) I already earned $5 so I guess the glitch is fixed.. 🙂
maybe, this also depends on your niche? I don’t see any decline on my Adsense earnings, even on average cost per click. I’m actually hitting my all-time high this month because of increase in traffic.
It looks like we really can’t generalize these trends. For some niches, Adsense income is decreasing but for some, it’s increasing. Let’s just hope that over time, we see a continuous uptrend in our Adsense earnings. So we’ll have Merry Christmases every year~!
Down about 25%
me too my adsense down for 25%, it started this month. my cpc lowered
I wonder how long will this downtrend be?
sabi nila hindi naman daw masyado affected ang internet advertising. medyo may konting decline pero konti lang.
I’ve experienced the same problem over the past 2 weeks.. declining Adsense earnings.. I suppose its due to the same reason mentioned above. Let’s all hope the recession will be resolved soon.
Sana nga nde tumagal ito. Looks like general trend nga ito kasi marami ang apektado. Sinu-sinong publishers ang nde apektado? Anung niches ng sites niyo?
Advertising funds are drying up, hence you need to be more active in your SEO.
Income is down, but I can offset it by adding other blog
Glad to hear that other people are experiencing it – thought that I still had the same ratings in Google, so was assuming that people were cutting down on online advertising. At least we now know it seems to be happening to a number of people, not another Google slap or worse
I was waiting until February to respond, since that’s typically my biggest month. So far my earnings are down by more than half compared to previous years though like others, my impressions and clicks are the same.
I just have a question to all adsense earners… I just reached $10 on my account. I know the next step is the PIN. Do I get any email from google telling me that they sent my PIN number? thanks
@shalom, the PIN will be automatically generated and will be sent to you as soon as it’s made. You can view the date it is generated by clicking the “Please enter your PIN” link on your Payment History page.
More about Google Adsense PINs here.
Mine too… I also have my adsense earning very low. I hope this things would end.
yeap.. im also affected. thankx pinoymoneytalk
it is due to economic crisis.
To make that kind of money he needs a site that really is IN the picture.
All people are curious how such a person does it because they want it themsselves too.
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/googleadsensegenerator.com shows a traffic rank of 200.000
so the whole story is crap….
to make 14.000 dollars a DAY you need…..at least 4.2 million HITS a day and that would be noticed in the internet community for sure…talking about a facebook type of site..
So dont beleive all what you read and analize first..
I?ve learn a few excellent stuff here. Definitely price bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how a great deal effort you place to make a real magnificent informative site.
