Philippine stocks closed above the 9,000 level for the first time in history!
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) set a brand new record last Friday, January 26, 2018, when it ended the day’s trading at 9,041.20 points, up 0.47% from the previous trading day’s close.
PSEi’s All-time high level in 2018
The index finally breached 9,000 after teasing this psychological resistance level twice this week — the first on January 23 (PSEi closing level: 8,999.02 points) and the second on January 25 (PSEi closing: 8,999.17 points). The price breakout on Friday was the new all-time high level of the PSEi to date.
Gainers today trumped decliners, with 110 stocks registering a price increase while 97 stocks ending in the red. Fifty-two (52) stocks had unchanged prices. Total value traded amounted to P7.83 billion.

- Property: up +0.75%
- Industrial: up +0.14%
- Services: up +0.03%
- Financials: down -0.44%
