Choosing an Index Fund in the Philippines

I recently read Graham's "The Intelligent Investor" and think that my best bet to grow my money is investing in index funds.

I made a spreadsheet on the various index funds I gathered information from so far here:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VnrFToTo67-5dm25r47Fqm29Z7jJ_9sT/view. As you can see, there are parts missing and I may have made a lot of mistakes (I'd appreciate it if you can point out my errors and add additional information).

From the data I have gathered, UCPB's index fund seems to be the top choice, mainly because of its low trust fee and its low costs for the initial and additional investments which is perfect for a person with low-income like me.

For you, what are the qualities of a great index fund that I should look out for? Are there variables that I have to check in detail other than those listed in my spreadsheet? For example if there are hidden fees(non-management fees like external auditing fees) or if the investment is ensured by the government.

I got my sources from:

-BPI, BDO, and Sunlife's respective websites

Thanks for the detailed listing of the available index funds in the Philippines. I have never read the book yet but I have a major concern about index funds. These funds are basically mirroring the PSEi with that said why would you pay 2-5% management fee for a fund that they don't directly manage? Why would it be better to subscribe to index funds instead of buying index tracker ETFs? Was there anything in the book that tackles this?

Thanks @ymtoniichan for the spreadsheet. I realized I'm overpaying my index fund and I'm better off transferring the money to my PERA account with BPI.

I hope somebody can answer @superpets question re: index fund versus tracker ETFs, especially on fees.

Hi. I made a blog post about Philippine index funds and considered several factors, such as the fund's tracking error, convenience, management fees, and other associated fees. Here's the link:

https://katiescarlettneedsmoney.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-philippine-index-funds/

Based on my analysis, the best PH index fund is First Metro ETF because of its low tracking error and low annual management fee which is .5%. It's also very convenient to buy especially if you have an online broker account such as COL, BDO Nomura, BPI Trade, etc.
