Hi guys,

I'm planning to buy certain items in Alibaba.

May mga facts ba na dapat i consider? Like shipping?
I've already found a product na gusto ko. Ano kaya ang first steps to order and mga dapat ko iconsider?

I havent tried myself. Siguro dapat mo iconsider kung worth it ba lol.

Are you talking about
A:  Alibaba SHOP section?
Then I suppouse THEY solve so you get it to Phils.

B: Alibaba PRESENTATION of products and companies section?
Then it depend of what you agree with these companies, because that are NOT products belonging to Alibaba.
For instance FOB ,(=Free in board = They solve the first part until it's LOADED at a ship/airplane of your choise in THEIR country and it's up to you to solve the rest.) An other common is they solve the transport and insurance to Phils custom, the buyer solve the rest.

I see sir. Nag offer yung shop nang 52$ shipping fee eh. Ibig sabihin ba nun ay dadating nalang ang product without any problems? Or pupunta pako sa custom to fix it?

My Tagalog is bad, so I'm not sure what you ask. But I answer anyway    :hihi:

At any buy from abroad,  some small slip trough sometimes, but the corect is you will need to pay the custom fee and VAT to get your delivery.  The custom fee is VERY high at SOME products, so you better check that to calculate what total cost you would get if you buy from abroad.

I see, So after I pay the product to the supplier, I also have to pay for the customs when the product arrives here? Does it not go directly to my doorstep since I've already paid the supplier a shipping fee?
And for the customs payment how much and what are the computation of how much they charge a shipment?
I have read a few blogs that they usually charge 200% of the product.

Alibaba is for B2B. If you want a tingi tingi check AliExpress.

Shipping wise I haven't tried buying from AliExpress. Pero customs talaga ang pinakamalaking harang mo. If you don't want to go through customs you may opt for MyShoppingBox. They will give you a US adress then from that US address they'll ship it to your doorstep (via LBC or 2GO). Yun nga lang mapapamahal ka sa shipping fee and US Customs naman problema mo, pero sa pagkakarinig ko masmaluwag US Customs. Some US Citizens were able to buy from Aliexpress without getting charged by customs, pero word of mouth nga lang yun.

Good Luck

I tried looking for the product in AliExpress but it's not listed there eh. Well, the Supplier did confirm the package will be delivered via DHL and it would be delivered in my doorstep. Mahaharang pa rin ba siya nang customs? Small quantity palang naman siya and kung successful ang negotiations I might order larger quantities.

  Well.
/It's possible a few transporters, close connected to the seller, handle all including the custom and include the custom fee.
/A "middle" type is it's delivered all the way to you, but you will need to pay the custom costs.
/But a NORMAL transport (when package or biger) is it's delivered to a custom office where you can fetch it and pay the custom fees.

/Shipping fee
/and custom costs
are two DIFFERENT things (Sometimes - seldom -  combined, but many can believe it's more common than it is by the custom let many through without bothering the charge for them.)
I don't know if the max 10 000p worth for free concerns common packages. Perhaps it's only when bring things when travel? And balinkbayan boxes too?  I mean the BB boxes, which follow the rules   :)   what's allowed to send in them.

Otherwice is the custom costs:
/VAT   (I believe 12 % at almost all types of products.)
/the custom fee to let things through. That's from nothing, mostly a few percent, but a very high percent for some products. It depend of origin country (mainly ASEAN) and otherwice product type.)
/LOCK UP!  Sometimes the custom demand a crazy high "STORAGE fee" . I suppouse - sure in some cases - to make people SKIP to pay and LEAVE their goods in the custom  so custom people can take the products for THEMSELVES...  >:(

I see I managed to ask a few of my friends and grabe charge pala nila per day na hindi makukuha ang certain item. more than 500 php ata. Anyways thank you for the helpful advice.

If you're going to buy small quantity, as in 1 or 3pcs lang better do it with Aliexpress instead of Alibaba.  Alibaba is for bulk orders.
Aliexpress is more like Ebay.  Plus, they have an online chat with the merchant or a clerk with the merchant.

You can score free shipping with Aliexpress, but for longer shipping days.  Since they ship them thru Chinapost, meaning you'll receive your item thru the post office, but with tracking number.  Normally no duties or taxes if small quantity thru Chinapost.

I've tried buying several times with Aliexpress.  I always get the product based on the days committed.  Another plus is their Escrow system.  The seller won't get paid until you go back into the system to confirm that you've received the goods and they are in good condition.

In case na takbuhan mo naman si seller, they can show the Escrow system the waybill number and confirmation that you've received the goods and didn't lodge a complaint.  Thus, they have to be paid.

I tried looking for the product in aliexpress but sadly the product is not listed there. I think Alibaba also has an escrow. When I got quoted with the product. They provided an account number to be sent thru WU and it's from alibaba.

Try Lazada, since Alibaba has bought over control of Lazada for SEA market like pinas.
