You again save 260K a month??? not sure what is the exchange rate but to make things easier at P40 it is $6500. Wow!!!

What is the breakdown from the emloyment income???? maybe most of this is business.

How I wish I can save that much.

Combined employment and part time business income is approximately $4000 net savings per month.
Real Estate rental income is P120k per month.

We're US based by the way. We started saving and investing really young.

Great! I need to crank up my savings lol to compete with yours. I am based myself in Canada, a citizen here that's why I needed to convert the P to $ to understand well. I make high 5 digits figures in C$ but the so far I've been saving $1700/month since September and it is really hard being so very stingy lol! I feel like giving up. Thanks for the inspiration!

I believe in the saying that "It doesn't matter how much you earn but how you save."  Delayed gratification is the key but it takes ton of discipline.
I'm reaping the benefits now of buying luxury things and travelling as much as we can. But for me, the most important part is giving back to God and our community.

Source of Income: Fixed Salary (drafting work, virtual assistant for a relative)
Base of Operations: Philippines
Monthly Savings: around 75% of income
Started saving: 2005
Net Worth: 2M
Assets: Real Estate (P700K started 2010), SVUL (P1M started in 2014), Stocks (P25K started in 2015), remainder is the emergency fund
Liabilities: None

I included civil status as I always get the "because you're single, you're able to save" comment from just about anybody. The size of our garage isn't helping either. But, I can't forget what an ex-entertainer told me when he tried to put up a club with 1M in the 90's and realized that 1M wasn't a lot of money. Back then, I couldn't even imagine having that much money.

Parehas pala tayo ng edad Sir atsaka halosp parehas ng ne worth hehe.  Ang pinagkaiba lang is i'm married na.

I got married 2 years ago.  Mejo baligtad tayo kasi nung single pa ako wala akong investments.   Although despite being a  "marginalized employee" during the first 5-years of my career sa Pinas I was still able to save up for my emergency fund but that's it.  And by the way, I think my wife's net worth is more than mine because she has her own house. (hehehe pwede na ako makitira sa kanya hehhee) despite my salary being 5 times higher than hers and she's 4 years younger than me.  For that, I'm very happy when I wed my wife because that when I started getting really serious in investing.  I can say I'm more financially mature and aggressive in saving more for the future than when I'm still single.  I hope you'll also meet and fall in love with a woman who's also financially mature like you.

And please drop the "sir". I may be old but I can still deadlift 90Kg excluding the weight of the bar. Don't get the funny idea of calling me "mam" either. Haha.
Got it. I usually address people in the forum as "mam", "sir", "boss", "sis" regardless of their age. :)

How bout counting really what matters?  . . . Net Worth . . . or better --------------- Net Happiness. Try to answer the question: Are you happy with your life now? The answer is the only thing that matters -- me thinks.

I subscribe to your idea! Additionally, people should be contented on what they have. Contentment equates to happiness!

money is never a source of happiness. but happiness is more when u have money. it kinda increase the degree of happiness and enjoyment. additional bonus is peace of mind and security.

net worth = in php52m including bank cash, shares and real estate properties.
Net happiness = around 80% because I have great guardian parents that became my financial/psychological advisors and an unrebellious sister. The other 20% is because I been single for a decade and counting.

I lost track of my assets (didn't track for around 3 years already). How do you track stocks by the way because the prices are fluctuating?

What I do know though is that I don't have any liabilities.

Dami pala mayayaman dito!

Which is... no surprise when you think about it.

Anyway, back to topic (at nahihiya naman ako. Wala pa akong million... sa ngayon...):

Age: 27 (single)
Source of Income: Normal job and nothing else (for now). Salary is less than a call center agent's.
Monthly Savings: P4k
Net Worth: P500k+

Source of Income:   Employment forever na ata. Me and my    hubby are both struc engs. I have my lending business pero maliit pa lang

Monthly Savings: tama lang
Net Worth: tama lang sa edad ko
Assets: houses (im on a right time and right place kaya natyempuhan)
Liabilities: Our car. Never nagkaroon ng credit card dahil takot ako.

Salamat sa PMT at natutunan ko ang emergency fund. Dati kasi ipon lang kami ng ipon ni husband then living below our means. Natutunan ko ditto na mag emergency fund then go and invest others. Sa ngayon trolling around ako sa mga value invester threads and stock market crash. Baka magkaroon ako ng lakas ng loob mag stocks wahahahha

What do you mean by 'financially literate' and what did you do, in your opinion, to become so? Finance is still a big unknown to me but I'm def willing to change that!

Agree sir its not too late.  I have a good earning job ever since i graduated (middle management) but I have been on a spending spree ever since.   I started to realize that I need to start saving when I was 35 during which I had a gf who appeared rich (wore signature clothes, spent a lot) but when I visited their place it was once small room where the whole family squeezed themselves in.

So to cut the story short, I am now 38 and I have multiple Ms as my net worth with 0 liabilities.  Keep it up sir and you'll make it!

mag laan ka sir ng konti para sa iyong fun fund.
para di ka madeprive.
For example, maglaan ka ng P500 per week. Tapos after 3months may pambili ka nang kung Hanes na ibat ibang kulay.   :D
