aside from looking into trading/investing, i suggest subukan mo mag online freelancing. ano ba 14-yr experience/skills nyo? whatever it is, tingin ko maaapply mo yan sa freelancing. and i am quite sure ma-attain mo uli ang 6-digit salary, one way or another and sooner or later, while working at home.

Tapos sabak na after.  Sa ngayon sanay swertehin nalang muna sa passive.

yes, i did. thankfully, maganda ang resulta in less than a year despite the fact na wala ako experience kasi never pa ko nag-employment, LOL (i must admit this is a very rare case based on my experience and continuous observations sa paligid ko). i had to try it kasi marami na ko chicks na pinapakain, i mean mga responsibilidad. :D

now, I am more 'complete' and have more time to do what I love - trading saka pursuing my intended projects/endeavors. ;)

Good luck Sir!

Thanks ferrariEverest.

I'm also looking for what will make me complete.  Napansin ko kasi for the past few years I've always need to be out of work to attend to a lot of family matters.  This happens at least once a week.

I feel that going out of the normal employment structure will give me more time to appreciate my youth, travel and have the ability to spend time with family and friends.

Hi Guys,

Update ko lang ung plans ko.  I've always wanted to switch from being an employee to being self-employed.  So I tried 2 things the past couple of months, one is freelancing (odesk) then another is doing what i love best and earning from my hobby.

Both are successful but I realized a few things:

1) in odesk, you can get a client who has more strict working conditions than a corporate employer.  my client emposes a 2 hour unpaid work penalty if you are late for work.  talk about freelancing.
2) earning money from my hobby is very tiring.  i love to do it, but its very tiring
3) both odesk and the hobby earn less than what i earn as an employee (taxed).

but still I am leaning towards living the corporate scene.  maybe in 2014 to start the year right.  maybe I need something that is really passive. probably a business that can manuever by itself.

Hi IGX and everyone,

Just read your story from page 1. Goodluck on your endeavor.

I myself had been a Store Manager from a reputable clothing brand locally. After years of managing different stores, I decided to go business due to dead end job. I cannot see promotion anymore in that company since the next level is very limited.

I know my capabilities and these have promted me to go on my own.

I have a daily need-type of business now and after a year of operation, I am enjoying a lot - family centered, going anywhere anytime, vacation.

The first few months are hard but with the learnings I got from my previous work, it serves as the primary weapon to succeed.

Rewarding not only financially but I am now an employer who is an employee before.
The job opportunity was filled by talented individuals.

One must have the passion. Talent. Experience.

As I remember from my former CEO saying, " if you will just continue what you are doing, you will just get the same result ".

....that is why I am learning now how to go on Investing.

Good evening everyone.

As I was reading this thread, na realize ko ung sarili ko noon nung employee pa ako.

Now, am doing my work at home.  Na mi miss ko lang ung dati job ko pero to realize na there is life after the corporate world... yes there is.  Godbless sa lahat.  :hello:

I don't want to be an employee for the rest of my life that's why I switch to being self-employed. It's a good thing narin nag trabaho ako sa corporate world because I can use what I learned sa pag tatrabaho sa corporate world para mag grow and maging successful ang business ko.

Because through being self-employed, you own your time. You can do whatever you want whenever you want it. I am never a punctual person. So that's why I decided to switch from being an employee to self-employed.

Switching from a regular employment where you are sure of a monthly salary to self-employment is a big decision that anyone can make. The good thing is that you get to enjoy your freedom, be your own boss and decide the path that you want your life to take. The challenge is that it all comes back to you When you sleep, your money sleeps with you, when you work, your money grows
