hello Sir,
not sure ha... P5k-P10k yata ang minimum.

basa basa ka muna sa internet, gaya sa investopedia.com
for now, iwasan mo maginvest OUTSIDE bank products & iwas ka rin sa Mutual funds at UITF.
IMHO, bank products na ok for now sayo ay time deposit, SDA, bonds.

may mga threads tayo dito about such products & others. basa basa ka.

- bata ka pa (pareho tayo, ako mukhang bata :D ) mahaba ang oras mo, so use it wisely.
basa, aral muna about investing & trading (stocks, forex, futures, commodities, etc.). alamin mo kung alin ang mga nagustuhan mo at posibleng bagay sayo.

- magtrabaho/negosyo ka. do online jobs if possible.
- magtipid, mag-ipon.... habang nag-aarala about investing.
- magcommit ka na mag-aral tungkol dito ng at least 1-5years. treat investing/trading as a serious business. if u do, napakaganda ng future mo, i ASSURE you.

Good luck!

'wag na PC! Get a performance laptop! Portable, wifi-able, and if powerful enough...

*drum roll*

GAMING!

*cough* I mean WORK!

Hilarity aside, consider your liquidity needs and risk profile first before even attempting to invest the money.

You might actually be able to turn this into a business if you can get powerful computer parts cheap, assemble 'em, and sell it to a net cafe.

In your blog there was a mention about the following:
"As a shareholder in Mutual Funds, you get to receive dividends commonly in the form of stock dividends or additional shares credited to your account on an annual basis. In UITFs, you don’t have this."
Can peeps having MF placements confirm this? How is it done?

Stock dividends is depending on the Board of the MF. Like what happen to Philam PSGF in 2010.
FAMI has never declared stock dividends. What do I know, they have capped on total shares they can sell to the public as per SEC (let's say 1,000,000 shares). So one of FAMI's option is to reinvest the earnings of the fund by buying more shares of companies, which technically make the Asset of the fund bigger.

Not sure about UITF..

@ DonT,

Sunlife Equity and Balanced Fund has declared dividends thrice(ata)
since inception. I have personally experience the dividend declaration
twice for the Balanced Fund. The dividend rate is normally 2%

MFMCP has also declared dividends once.

PAMI's Equity has also declared dividends. Big dividends.. 30% ata

But at any rate there really is no "benefit" for you aside from additional
liquidity cguro.. I say that because the NAV is adjusted accordingly, so the total value of your investment stay the same.

And based from my limited knowledge of stock markets, I would liken it to a stock split. You'll have more shares but the total value of your shares is the same. Parang ganun.
