HWM experience....please check and read carefully, not sure about maxyield kasi sa HWM prime yield its payable for 10 years tapos vul type pala sya kasi not all the premium will be  invested.certain percentage will be sliced from your premium...please check lahat ng details kahit maliliit ang pagkasulat pagtiyagaan na basahin.

talking of bankruptcy.. I really don't think that it will come a time that this two GIANT financial institution will declare bankruptcy. In the first place, you are not buying a BANK PRODUCT. This is an INSURANCE product. Put also in your mind that this is not a PRE-NEED insurance. Does MAXYIELD promise to give you x5 of your investment? Hindi bah wala.. what it promised is WHATEVER the HIGHEST NAVPU achieve for the span of 10 years will be the basis of earning of what you have invested. There is also what we so called INVESTMENT STRATEGY on the first five years it will be invested into bonds and last 5 years into stocks. Your investments will be diversified into GLOBAL EQUITIES, BONDS and INFLATION HEDGE FIXED INCOME INSTRUMENTS.

gagai,

study first the things that you are saying here in this thread.  financial ignorance is too blatant in your statement.

Anyone has any updates on BPI's Max Yield product? Or Philamlife, if you got it from Philamlife, it doesn't matter.

They're offering it again, for the 2011-2021 bracket this time.

Anyone from the 2009-2019 bracket who can give some feedback on this investment's performance?

are you working for bpi-philam? barclays?
i have an insurance with Philam and they failed to keep their promise that i will just pay in 9 years only.  I'm now in my 12th year of payment.
i have an investment fund with BPI and they failed on their promise that my funds will be invested in global equities.
ano nangyari dun sa  Philam insurance? bakit na-extend?
which BPI investment fund yan?
ok lang if u prefer to PM me your reply.
thanks!

sa philam yung life insurance ko pala na binigay ng agent ay hindi fixed payment period, late ko na na realize na 'tentative' lang pala yung period at self liquidating lang siya kung ang kita sa mga previous payments ko exceeded the total payments that i made.  too young during that time, im not yet financially literate then kaya im sharing my own experience to readers here so that they will avoid the 'pitfalls' in insurance marketing.

sa bpi naman, i invested in their global equity fund (UITF) ito.
in the prospectus, the funds were promised to be invested in global equities.
after i invested on it, i discovered the 'big limitation' of bpi in managing the funds.  so i pulled out after more than 2 years.

BPI-Philam (former Ayala Life) still offers their best selling dollar denominated VUL invested in a cross section of global mutual funds.....

One setback though for dollar denominated investments is : Aside from market risk (volatility / fluctuations in value).... there is also Exchange Rate risk.

I purchased units last 2009 when peso-Dollar rate was at 46 peso to 1 dollar then.... Now the dollar is down to 42+/-

by taking the investment time frame of Prime Yield / Max Yield which is 10 years

if dollar trends follows its present downhill value.....I am worried my dollar value after 10 years might negate the gains of my investment

However, Max Yield (BPI-Philam) / Prime Yield (Philam Life) offer the HWM...wherein the maturity fund value shall be locked in to the highest NAVP achieved during the funds lifetime

@bauer, when you say "big limitation" are you referring to
the bpi fund's performance?

I think there are 2 bpi fund managers though.
The one handling their UITFs are...well, not so good hehe

But their mutual funds are doing good.
The rep I spoke with about AFLM Growth Fund did
say that they're a separate department

:D siguro depends din sa agent ng PhilAM na maeencounter nyo

i was also been offered an "investment + insurance" from PhilAm pro im happy kasi they advised me to wait and will inform me in the future when to start... REASON: the per share of mutual funds are still HIGH ... so for me this agent is NOT just after my money.

Regarding investment units and mutual funds from the BPI, I compared it other IUTF and MF pro medyo mababa nga.

BTW i have MF from PhilAm funds and from Php 30,000 (3 years ago) its now Php 42,000 so im happy anyway if i put it to 3% TD it will only earn just almost 3k.

:D Wla pa me money so far pro if meron yeah ill put some again to PhilAm funds BUT i really want to try to invest to BPI kasi i love this bank... lots of branches... and i have one just a few steps away from my home and office.

Mxherr5,

My big limitation pertains not so much on fund performance because it is an equity fund so I expected that it is too volatile.  My concern is bpi's limited knowledge and control on the funds which concerns me a lot because it is a fundamental part of their operation.

What made you say that BPI has limited knowledge?
Is it because of their commentaries in their reports?
It shows lack of knowledge?

And they lack control on their funds? What do you mean?

I believe BPI dont have limited knowledge, in fact they are smart ..meaning they outsmart their own investors-clients.. If the fund they manage earns 15% per annum ay mga 5% per annum lang ang ibibigay nila sa clients nila...

THAT IS WHY DONT INVEST ON BPI-PHILAM Products kasi its NOT PROFITABLE!!! ang nagsasabi lang na ok yan ay yung mga agents.. ask them for proof kung sila mismo ay bumili ng products nila at sasabihin  nila ay hindi..kung meron man ay konti lang para wag lang na masabi na di sila bumili..TAKE NOTE kung talagang profitable yang mga products na yan dapat they ARE WILLING to  invest a huge amount of their own money to buy their products di ba? Hehe
