What can you say about setting-up a taxi business?

Tried searching the forums... wala akong nakita - baka I wasn't looking hard enough (if so, pa-merge na lang mga mods!)

Anyway, ano ang pros and cons ng ganitong business?

Naisip ko na mas ok mag-loan ng brandnew car na gagawing taxi...

Magkano na ba boundery ng taxi ngayon (medyo matagal na ko di nakakasakay kaya hindi ako makapag-interview :D)

Is it true na hindi na nag-ooffer ang LTO ng taxi franchise?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

nag-iinterview ako ng mga taxi drivers...
iniisip ko rin itong gawing venture...
P900 to P1600 normally yung boundary... depende kung bago o luma. 24hrs daw ito.
parang lucrative...  :D
kaya lang kailangan i-factor yung depreciation ng car.
mabilis makasira ang mga driver na walang pakialam...
kailangan silang piliin ng mabuti.
meron ding ibang scheme.. drivers ang nagpapaayos ng sira..

who says a car is a liability? hehe, actually it's how we use it.

same idea as foreclosed properties, you can buy a car and let the boundary pay off the monthly amortization. so you have passive income. :watchuthink:

hmmm... pwede rin kaya rent-to-own? just raise the boundary enough to generate income. that way the driver takes care of his future car, eventually owning it and freeing himself from paying the boundary. :watchuthink:

larry gamboa, can you do the financials for this?  :hihi:

actually may mga gumagawa nun.
ang advantage is yung drivers ang magpapaayos pag me nasira.  :cool2:
nagawan ko na 'to ng financials... ok naman.

try nyo magcompute...
brand new muna, then 2nd hand.
sa computation ko, mas kikita ka sa 2nd hand cars pero mas malaki initial capital.

Hi,

Tried to interview some drivers (some operators din) and got positive response.  I'm seriously considering this as a business to generate passive income.

Pero syempre, dami rin dapat i-consider.  Can someone guide us on how to start?  ex.  franchising, purchase, etc.

Medyo marami pa ko dapat matutunan :)

Kotse lang ang kinoconsider nyo? Gasolina at Fare isipin nyo ren..

what if kulang at hindi maibigay ng driver yung boundery? Mura lang ang pamasahe pero mahal ang gasolina.

Pwede sguro bili ka ng kotseng Tubig ang fuel. hehehehe Tiba tiba ka nun. kahit 3k or more pa ang boundery mo.

louien tama si maaku and pinaka tubo mo sa taxi ay ung depriciated unit. And tama din si rael mas ok ung hulog/boundary kasi sa hulog/boundary driver ang bahala sa maintenance and gasolina.

So for example kuha ka ng kotse amounting to around 300K-350K i-convert mo cia into LPG para maganda rin ang take home ng driver (60K ang pa-convert) then gawin mo taxi hulog/boundary 5 years. Today's taxi boundary is around 1200-1500. So let's just say sa 1200 na lang na 20 days a month. So in 60 months u'll get 1.4M.

In other words ...

Your principal/investment = 500K [Value of the car <350K> + LPG conversion <60K> + Taxi Reg <40K>] = 450K

1.4M less principal/investment (450K) = 950K
950K divided by 5 = 190K
Meaning my 450K which is your principal/investment would earn 190K a year in 5 years or 43% per annum.

Tama ba mga computations / assumptions ko? If yes ba't kaya ala mciado gumagawa ng Taxi na hulog/boundary. Mapupunta sa driver ang taxi in 5 years kaya aalagaan nia.  So parang nagpa utang ka lang na ang amortization is 43% pa

wala masyado gumagawa ng hulog/boundary kasi you can earn more from the taxi even its old na. even more than 10yrs old na model at kakarag karag, operators can still earn from it.

as far as i know....
hindi open ang franchising ngayon. what people do is buy existing franchise from operators na hindi na mag ooperate or mag su-substitute ng unit sa prangkisa. (pag kasi old na, dapat mapalitan ng newer model).

hindi rin daw pwede ang encumbered apparently. but.....

you have to consider din, the accidents (knock on wood). let say operator have 1 or 2 units, pag nabangga/nakabangga ang isa...no ncome na, tapos ang income ng isa, magagastos sa- pagpapagawa ng isa or pagbabayad ng na-aksidente.

it's ideal siguro to have at least 5 to start with.

mahal na rin po ang prangkisa, umaabot na at least 50k per unit.

if we talk about it on a larger scale, one of the angle that you have to think about is the political problem...i'm talking about labor union etc.

Sa strategy ng driver, be careful din. dami excuse para maka lusot para di pay ng boundary...
-hold up 'me'---- lalaslasin ang sariling bulsa, try lang kung makakalusot.
-drama king----- laging maysakit si ganito, si ganyan. mapuputulan ng kuryente.. ng tubig at kung anu2 pa.
-worst, i-abandon ang sasakyan. wala na boundary, hanap ka pa ng sasakyan mo.


hay naku...di naman po puro negative, pang gising lang sa katotohanan...hehe.

try mo rin i compare sa jeepney business bago ka mag decide . sa taxi kasi pag luma na kailangan  mo palitan. sa jeepney basta tumatakbo at nakakapasa sa emmision test ma paparegistro pa rin , kasi yung mga jeepney dito sa amin mga 80's pa mga ito hanggang ngayon kumikita pa rin , mga taxi natin sa ngayon mga 2000's models na .. hindi nga lang sosi ang jeepney hehehe
