Apathy. And more importantly, the masa are mostly employed. They are too busy trying to earn money to be mindful of such issues.

Most people want change and progress, but they are not committed to see it through. That needs to change drastically.

UPDATE:

Sabi ng legal counsel ni Napoles, incomplete daw ang hawak na kopya ni Sen. Lacson samantalang hindi naman nagtutugma ang listahan ni Napoles sa listahan ni Benhur Luy.

So, who's telling the truth? Bakit ba kasi hindi pa linalabas ni deLima ang original na listahan? Hindi ba pwedeng ilabas muna, tsaka imbestigahan. Habang tumatagal kasi, lalong nakakaduda na... baka edited na pag lumabas.

Former Sen. Ramon Magsaysay, Jr.'s statement on Benhur Luy's list

***
come to think of it, perhaps some of those in the list, had in some ways, an encounter with JLN, that shows how pervasive Janet's reach or access was to these lawmakers and their available funds.. ibig sabihin, may chuchu sya sa kung anong opisina ng gobyerno na nakakaalam sinong senator or congressman pa ang hindi nakakagasta ng PDAF at pwede nilang hingian ng pondo. yung pagdidisburse ng funds naman, siguro ministerial or routinary na lang pag nakitang may endorsement ng senador/congressman or pag nakitang jln sa dami ng hawak nya NGO, na naapprove lahat..

dapat lahat ng nasa listahan maglabas ng ganyang explanation gaya ni magsaysay... kung sino man hindi makaexplain or walang sense ang paliwanag, tuhugin ng kawayan at gawing litson!

Among the senators loren was never in my mind that would get involve with this scam but I entering politics needs lots of money even if you have an honest platform and integrity you wouldn't win without a large campaign fund to buy votes.

Imagine that erap was convicted of plunder yet he won as mayor,  Ronald singson was convicted as a drug addict in Hong Kong yet he still won as congressman, Arroyo the 9 year kingpin of corruption won 2nd term as congresswoman after all the scam she got involve,  how about the marcos family where our own Philippine history declared them as dictator/plunderer/human rights violator/corrupt yet nearly the entire family are now in positions.

Someone in business would never employ individuals with such records even if they spent 30 years rehabilitated in prison because of such a reputation , heck even ordinary individuals would not hire maids with these unholy record yet pinoys could not translate these same criteria in screening out potential employees in voting for the right people

Ultimately its the voters who are dumb enough to keep on voting for many unsavory politicians over and over again even if they had been tainted with corruptions for one measly sum every 3 to 6 years while they spent the rest crawling with poverty because politicians will never feel indebted to someone who sold their votes.

Yes it is true.  That's why we need to educate and teach a lot of our countrymen.  Higher education and learning leads to progress because citizens that are WELL AWARE of their rights and obligations in society will PUSH FOR CHANGES in our government.

Let's do our part even how small it is.  I take my time discussing important issues in our country online with the hope that some readers can learn something from it.

Bakit wala pa rin petisyon na baguhin ang course description ng Political Science 101?

To add: how to vote wisely aka the ways to screw yourself by the way you vote  :watchuthink:

Actually in UP, ung isang GE course na PolSci subject na nakuha ko, tungkol sa political system and elections. siguro mga major pol sci subjects mas in depth pa ang pagtalakay jan.. but i dont think it would be that effective so as to make a significant change in our society. ilan lang naman ang kumukuha ng course na PolSci ... much less, ilan lang ba ang umaaabot sa kolehiyo? thats why my proposition ever since, e grade 2-3 simulan ituro ang election and right to vote, para walang kawala. kung hanggang grade 6 lang abutin at hindi na makapaghigh school (and these are the folks who end up becoming kasambahay, construction workers, farmers, etc., <--the lot who actually go out and vote for their favorite artista), maskipaps may naitanim nang kaalaman sa tamang pagpili ng pinuno. hindi ung kasagsagan ng campaign period nakikisabay din mga NGOs na nangangampanya "pls vote wisely", e papakinggan ba sila kung wla naman silang binigay na isang kilong bigas at 2 de lata?

^buti na lang umaga ko nabasa yan kundi napunta sa wala yung sinisingil sa akin na 9 hours of sleep #crushing on vicces   :hihi: he makes awesome sense

I suspect one religious sect applies what you're talking about. All of our helpers has been recruited by that sect. Those easily led will make babies that will become hotshot lawyers, generals, etc. In the case of starting 'em young about political awareness, those very idealistic children will be parroting to their elders what they were taught in school--->and the ripple effect happens. We hope.
