Bro continue putting money every month. What do you mean ng buy and sell? Trading ba? Buy and sell din naman ang ginagawa natin ah. Buy on low, then sell when u hit the target price. If you really well in tech analysis and mag psyco ng market then you can try. You can try simulation trading game if effective ba ang strategy mo. OFW din ako bro saang bansa ka?

long term or day trade have their own strength and weakness, try them both if you want then choose which one suits you best no one can dictate you which one is better for you but your own goodluck :D

OFW din ako,ang strategy ko naman buy in low price and sell it on higher price if i already reach my bench mark..Kailangan mu mag research sa mga stocks na pinili mo para alam mo ang gagawin mo..anyway,pag long term investor ka naman totobo din yan pero ang tanung how much would that growth be for lets say 15 years? So better study and take advantage on it.

another OFW here, and a newbie in investing.  i do not have yet the knowledge to do stock trading.  so for now, i plan to do just stock investing.  keep buying stocks (blue chips) on a regular basis, whether high or low (syempre mas maganda kung low) and hold on for 5 to 10 years.  it's been proven that all good stocks will eventually go up given enough time, regardless of the roller coaster ride.

Stick to your plan for now.

Next decide what is your objective. Some options are:

1. For savings (long term investing to fight inflation plus some gains)
2. As main income - usual very short term because this is what you use to cover your daily expenses
3. Be Opportunistic - buy low sell high is the plan, reality may be different
4. Thrill seeking - somewhat like gambling

Then make a plan and stick to it for some time to see if it works - your temperament and soundness of the plan combined.

Adjust as needed but always allow some time to see how the adjustment works.

"Listen to your elder's advice, not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong".

Do you mean just listen but not follow their advice?

And how do you then determine which advice is right and which is wrong?

minsan kasi yung iba ayaw na makinig sa sinasabi ng nakakatanda, baka nga sabihin pang obsolete na yung idea nila.

you may or may not follow their advice. base sa level of awareness mo, you can decide which advice is right and worthy to be followed and which is wrong na need mong i-further study what makes it not worthy to be followed at the moment  :watchuthink:

Sir. Read, Study, Read, Study, Read, Study, Read, Study, Read, Study, Read, Study, Read, Study, Read, Study, Read, Study, Read, Study, Read, Study, Read, Study..

Medyo OA pero walang tatalo sa pag aaral. Maraming Pro's and Con's between Long Term and Trading stock investing. Mag basa ka dito sa PMT and you will realize what I mean.

Bro, almost a year na akong nag aaral para mag invest sa Stock and up until now wala pa akong sagot kung ano sa simpleng tanong sa "Which is better? Long Term or Trading".

Just remember, hard earn money mo yan and I would assume ayaw mong mawala mga sakripisyo mo (being an OFW).

Good luck sayo.

meron po ba pagkakaiba sa steps ng pagbili sa market why you 1. buy to invest 2. buy to trade?

I mean lets say sa COL, same process lang ba sila? Or meron pa ibang kelangan gawin?

Also, I'm just curious... normally anong stocks ba binibili pag trading? Sabi nila blue chip for long term (investment), eh sa trading po ba di pwedeng blue chip din?

same process lang, you place a buy or sell order regardless of your investing horizon, ang pinagkaiba lang eh yung way ng pagpili ng stocks na bibilhin, kelan bibili at kelan magbebenta.
hindi lahat ng blue chip eh for long term, hindi din porke blue chip eh hindi na pdeng pang day trade, try doing both then decide which style fits you

It's just a thin, blurry line that separates trading and investing, to me. Some blue chip companies have good records fundamentally, but are not showing their pedigree in the market itself. They take on the personality of the bunch of people who exert influence over them.
