Title: Billboard Business
Post by: goodfella on Nov 19, 2008, 09:19 PM
Hi everybody,

Me and my friends are thinking of putting up a billboard (ad space for rent) along a major highway in Metro Manila. We already know a metal fabricator. We just like to get inputs regarding the following:

1) permits required
2) standard billboard ad size
3) ad placement fees (how much)
4) sales channels
5) standard rent for lot / building owner

Thanks in advance!

hi goodfella,

Billboards are one of my core businesses and i'll be glad to help you out.

1). Lots and lots of permits required.  From Barangay all the way to National (DPWH, MMDA).  Its better if you know someone in these Departments.  There is a moratorium now but you know how it goes in the Philippines.

2). Standard size is 30 x 50 and 40 x 60.  But any size can sell as long as the location is good.

3). depends on size and location.

4). Ad agencies and direct to clients.

5). Depends on location and negotiation.

Hi,

.... 2008 post.. forward to 2012!! haha. :)

I am also thinking of putting up the same business. So far, it is like staring into a blank wall. There aren't enough information about putting up this business. But gr8collector's answer gave me a few insights! thanks!

Just one question: As far as I know, I need a building permit if I wish to put one in a rooftop. So do I really need to hire an engr to design the structure?

It's always best to hire an engineer with this biz to avoid any hassle. :)
