Title: Member of the Month (September 2013): vicces
Post by: FutureGizmo on Sep 01, 2013, 03:01 PM

Every month, the PMT Forum honors one outstanding member of the PMT community to be awarded as the "Member of the Month".

Our "Member of the Month" is chosen among members who are seen as consistently active, dependable, insightful, and friendly in the forum. He or she, therefore, may be considered as a genuine role model in our forum community. For us to know better our "Member of the Month," we request our awardee to answer a few questions. Other members of the forum may also post in this thread to ask our MotM questions.

Our September 2013 Member of the Month is vicces!  Congratulations! :yehey:

Here are vicces's responses to our questions.

September 2013 Member of the Month: vicces

1. Hi vicces! How long have you been a PMT Forum member? Share to us how you discovered PinoyMoneyTalk.

Thanks. It will be my 2nd year on Sept 23.  :bday:  Google led me here. I signed up because I wanted to learn about stocks trading.

2. Why did you choose the username "vicces"?

It’s my name. Sort of. I was originally signing up my first name, but it’s already taken so I added my initials. It was too late when I realized that it sounds girly pala, like a name of a Disney princess...

3. What things do you like about the PMT Forum?

I will be the first to admit that when it comes to personal finance, I was a late-bloomer... but it didn't take long for this anomaly to be rectified. PMT is a watering hole for financial idiots like myself. I had low financial IQ and was just cruising along with life so I wasn’t really aware I was hungry for financial knowledge until I came upon this forum 2 years ago. But soon enough, that hunger was satiated and I honestly think I'm now equipped with the necessary tools to navigate through the dark alleys of this so-called road to financial freedom. And of course, it cannot be denied that one of the things about PMT that appealed to me is the "interesting" personalities here and my interactions with them made this learning journey less daunting. It has been crazy fun, and heartbreaking, too.

In almost 2 years of my time here in PMT, I was able to make up for lost time in the “wealth-building arena”. Hindi naman ako pinautang ni FG or sinuman from PMT, but the mindset and focus I slowly developed the past years, I very much credit and owe to this community (birds of the same feather, “fluck” together).  Actually, for a time I was a bit  confused how I managed na mas malaki yung savings ko sa official pay slip ko… but yeah, I did it! And part of it is because of the tips, advice (solicited or otherwise) and constructive-na-mejo-nanglalait na comments from the members to each other, I believe I smartened and toughened up a little bit more especially with the way I handle my finances. I later realized those extras and bonuses that went “unaccounted for” for several years (parang PDAF lang) – that’s what really made the difference now (aside from the change in lifestyle).  I didn’t know I am capable of turning myself around financially that quickly, given that makalat akong tao, makalat ang aking buhay, literally and figuratively. 2 years ago, I have less than 10% savings, now I’m 14% up this Au-ghost month alone (this MOTM has some sort of bragging privileges, right?! :harhar: ).. Seriously, malayo-layo pa ang byahe, but I honestly think I was able to cover a lot of ground, coz of all those learnings and support (directly and indirectly) I got from everyone here. Yun lang after 2 years… epal pa rin. #smugface

4. Tell us something interesting that we don't know about you.

Nope, I won't tell you my love problems... But here: Nung Grade 2 ako, I received a special award: Most Behaved Pupil.   #MBP #FTW

5. What are your hobbies or special interests?

Does running from my problems count as a form of exercise?  :hihi: I used to play a lot of sports, played some guitar and played my organ too (keyboards aka electric piano!) :D , and yeah, a tiny, little bit of photography... These days I rarely have time for any of them so my hobby now consists of reading, chart-gazing and surfing the net for stocks-related news... special interest would be, mambwisit ng taong masarap bwisitin... I've got a knack for it, I was told... :hihi:

6. What is your ultimate goal in life?

World domination. ‘Nuffsaid. :p

7. How do you make money? Share to us your sources of income so we can be inspired as well.

Approximately, 35% from my official job, 30% from ‘gigs’, 25% from stocks, and recently, 10% rents.

8. Can you tell us tips or suggestions that guide you in order to succeed financially?

Nakakatindig balahibong tanong, coz I don’t really think I am one to speak about financial success, baka batuhin ako ng kamatis dito....  :help:

IMHO, I’m still on my way there, just like the majority of yo’ pips here. I am in my mid-30’s, and comparing myself to the kids here who started out young-- it’s quite embarassing, so double over-time ang kailangan ko dito. Nakakapagod din honestly kumayod, kaya dinadaan ko na lang muna sa pa-pogi-an, pag may time… :harhar:

Tips.. First, basically, it starts with writing it all down (I got this from Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich)… When you put your goals into writing, you have a concrete and tangible representation of what you want (if its a sum of money you are targetting, specify the exact amount). I think it helps psyching yourself up, plus, you put it out there—kind of a shout out to the universe: ask and you shall receive... make sure you read it regularly, like twice a day or oftener. Repeating it to yourself makes your goals/desires active in your consciousness and eventually your brain will subconsciously work, until one day, you will have that "Eureka!" moment. Seriously, it worked for me. #TrueStory

Second, keep your eye on the ball and know your priorities. There will be a lot of distractions and temptations along the way, so you need make your regular "reality checks", and if you're so inclined, train yourself to have a tunnel vision so you won't stray too far from your goal/s. Of course you can't avoid mistakes and errors in judgment, but make sure you respect your metaphorical "stop loss" and maintain your "margin of safety".

Third, give back and pay it forward. Its good for your soul.

Fourth, Don’t sell yourself short. If you know your true worth, you don’t need to over-compensate for your insecurities with big wheels, latest gadgets, fancy restaurants, expensive watches, etc.  Stop torturing yourself trying to meet unreasonable expectations of others.  Most likely, these people don’t really give a sh*t about your well-being, so what’s the point of pleasing them at your expense?

Fifth, be consistent. Make a conscious decision to live a simple, but full and awesome life, and follow it through…. Yeah, easier said than done. But hey, we’re already awesome, so we’re actually halfway there! BOOM!  :harhar:

Wait, there's more! Just for the heck of it...

a. Favorite movie? A LOT, but my all-time (non-Hollywood) foreign film favorites: Chungking Express and Amores Perros – just because they are stories about people – connected by some random events… oh and yeah, Cinema Paradiso.

b. Favorite song or music genres? Hard to pick favorites, but for today, ‘90s music.. like Red Hot Chili Peppers' #Under_the_Bridge  #nowplaying

c. Favorite actor/actress? De Niro

d. Cat or dog? Dog

e. McDonald's or Jollibee? Mcdollibee. :D

f.  Kapuso, Kapamilya or Kapatid? Wala.

g. Money or fame? Money.

h. Marry intelligent but ugly person or marry stupid but beautiful person? Marry intelligent and beautiful. My world, my rules. :hihi:

i.  To love or be loved? To be loved… in RETURN. <-- Ayoko nung binabalewala ako. :bahalaka:

j.  Your motto in life? Hmmm, I stick to the basics, like the Golden Rule.. to modify it a bit, I added a “multiplier effect” on it: If you’re genuinely nice or kind (to me or to others), I will double/top that kindness, the best I can. Conversely, if you’re a mean and unkind person, I’ll be twice as mean to you, and there'll be no letting-up. I’m competitive that way. :p  #Gives-Every-Man-His-Due

==========

Thanks and congrats again, vicces!

PMTers, now's your time to congratulate our September 2013 Member of the Month! :applause:

May kakampi na pala ako, sumabit din ako at worst sa DIZ, another mining stock... Ganun nga mining, quick rich quick rags, another victim dyan is yun Odyssey High Conviction Fund ng BPI, and they decided enough is enough, so cut and reshuffle port :)

Folowup question:

2. Sa biggest losers naman, what made you hang in there and not cut loss yet?

A few questions for you, September MoM:-)

-When did you pass the bar? What led you to the legal profession? What frat, if any, do you belong to ?

- Who among these high-profile defendants would you never touch with a ten-foot pole even if, uhm, the price is right: the Ampatuans, GMA, Janet Napoles?

- Would you lawyer for someone you believe is guilty?

congrats! 1 post lang, bawing-bawi yung mga buwan na nawawala ka! Gleng gleng… :D

Question vicces…
1. if you’re a superhero, anong superpowers ang gusto mo? >>> X RAY VISION :D

2. yung target amount na sinasabi mo, ano yung sayo and whats the horizon? >>> akin n lng, bka majinx

3. what trading system do you implement, and anong mga defects, inefficiencies or glitches in your system ang naobserve mo? >>> human error ang glitch. tingin ko basta rules based ang trading decision mo, u will be ok... ung trading by instinct, hindi nababasa sa anumang libro, so trial and error talaga, but i think u need that to develop you market sensory or feel of the market.. imho ok lng nmn to follow your gut feel, basta kung mali ung gut feel, dont let the situation worsen or take too much risk based on a pure hunch... opinyon ko laang..

4. what are your regrets? sa trading? >>> mga da one dat got away, weepsaw, binarat na lumipad... mga diskarteng newbie na patalo like refusing to cut and not respecting your stops, eg. ORE

5.  yung da thing, kumusta na? :p >>> #awkward

Mukhang trader by heart based on the holdings, winners and losers ah!  :)

TIA Miami Vicces... Youre in hot seat.. :)
nag medium term hold din naman ako sa MWC, almost 100% din core holdings (initial buy) ko dun bought at 20-22, kaso nag ave up ako sa 30+ kaya tumaas aep. binenta ko in tranches 40-42 yata..

1. erratum, nalimutan ko, una ko palang double ur money OV, sabi kc dito yun daw bet ni Gus Cosio kya sumakay ako. nadeliver nmn nya, kaso palpak mga japs stucks nya kya di nko ulit naniwala s knya..

EG sinabayan ko c bauer.. tapos nahulog lalo... :hihi: buti nung nag ave dwn ako nagbounce ng bongga. kaboom!

SUN ung 2.5:1 SRO@ P1, un lng inaasahan ko dun..

2. biggest loser e gaya ng sabi ni singkit, remembrance.. a bitter reminder of a bad decision...

I held on to SM kahit nagkapaper loss na P30k coz of the stock div play, and well supported sya ng foreigns (at that time).. may conviction ako kaya hindi takot maipit...

bakit di mo binitawan ang ORE?? remembrance ba??
walang balak mag-average down sa ORE??

what percentage bago ka magcutloss??or depends sa price movement?
kinocompute ko muna bgo mag ave down kasi gusto ko dadagdagan ko lng exposure/risk kung mahihila ko ung aep close to the market price, otherwise, iwan ko n lng or cut loss. example ung EG. 1lot lng binili ko sa .08, hanggang bumagsak sa .02, so -6k floating loss. I needed to ave down/buy 90k worth of shares para maibaba sa .021 ang aep. imagine ganun kalaki ang dagdag risk para masalba ung -6k... thankfully nagrally for about a week, pero kung hindi, nasan na Eg ngyn, .015 yata.. 5k p nmn per tick nun..

kinompute ko din ung ORE... I need 300k@ P1/share para maibaba aep to about 1.2++, para masagip ung -35k++ n floating... kanila na yan.., :)

RH bill -- NOW NA!

Same sex marriage -- sa susunod na presidente na lang yan... :D

the thing is, our laws are explicit, marriage is a special contract between a man and a woman ... unless the civil code and family laws are amended, the state wont recognize their union. their recourse therefore is not to me but to the legislature.

agrey ako dito! my partner and i are in our 3rd year in our relationship and we're already planning for our future. kaso hiwalay lahat ng savings namin, investments and insurance since same sex relationship is not yet recognized in our country. plano namin sana magconjugal na invest sa afpslai since dependent ako ng dad ko and malaki ang earnings dun kaso hindi namin magawa kasi if ever may mangyari sakin sa family ko mapupunta yun. kawawa naman yung partner ko if ever kasi may money din siya dun. sayang ng opportunities to invest dahil sa lecheng batas na yan! :(

yes i am.  pero ako ang mas girl sa relationship.  :D

nakakatawa ang ginawa mong scenario sir. hehe. pero ang alam ko (base sa napanood kong movie the king and i (1939)  :hihi: if ever we'll be married, whatever is mine will be yours pero hind vice versa yun. parang magiging isa lang ako sa properties mo pero it does not mean na sakin din yung saiyo. punong puno ng machismo at male dominance ang muslim culture so what you explained above does not work that way.

huwaaat, may video scandal din si ryzza at bosing?!?
I havent seen it, pero base sa kwento mo, mukhang crossing the line c bosing dun... c ryzza kasi parang matanda ang isip tapos comedian, so nacarried away cguro si bosing at akala e parang sila jose lang ung kaeksena nya.. still, may sanction dapat kahit hindi intentional ung damage or abusive act.. special laws (anti child abuse law) punishes mere commission of the prohibited acts (mala prohibita), regardless of intent. <-- naks parang totoo.. :D

indo, nagkukulitan lng kmi ni singkit hehe, sobrang traffic kgbi nghanap ng pass time, ung may patutunguhan na usapang lasheng.. labo... pero salamat n din. :cool2:

wow breast cancer... things just got real here. sorry to hear about your wife, indo...

anong stage na? gano na katagal? di ba dapat pag ganyan mas mabuti ng tanggalin na lang surgically ung breasts para di na kumalat (mastectomy ba yun?) si angelina jolie nagpatanggal ng 2 breasts kailan lang to PREVENT the possibility of it (malaki yata chance na magkakameron sya coz of her genes?). kawawang bradpitt. ;) ... anyway, care to share more info (kung ok lang)?..

what to do... una mahirap naman ako magsalita dahil hindi pa ako married, but I would think your wife would just want you to be THERE, with her, beside her, hold her hand, hold her hair pag sumusuka sya or whatever painful treatments shes undergoing. every chance u get, dun ka sa tabi nya dapat as much as possible (abroad ka ba or nandito?)... yun ang tingin kong gagawin ko kung malagay sa ganyang pusisyon, wag naman sana... pero syempre kailangan magtrabaho para din mapagpapatuloy pagpapagamot (magkano na nagagastos nyo, ang laki na siguro).. pero kung makakanahap ng alternative na magkakaron ka ng mas maraming time to be with her, ok din..

though iba iba talaga tayo ng personalities and paghandle ng may sakit, ung iba hindi rin kaya na nandun nakikita naghihirap yung mahal sa buhay, yun iba naman pilit lumalaban kahit hindi na kaya ng pisikal na katawan.. walang mas nakakakilala sa asawa mo kundi ikaw kaya yun siguro ang isipin mo, ano ang gusto nya. iassure mo sya na ikaw ang bahala sa lahat, sa mga anak nyo, etc, para di na makadagdag sa alalahanin nya. mahirap sating mga lalake ung ganyan, na wala kang magawa, kung pwede ikaw na magdala nung cancer para di na sya mahirapan, lalo pag ung pangangatawan nya bumabagsak na rin (i had an aunt who died of throat cancer)... anyway, just make sure shes as comfortable as she can get, and make her laugh all the time... always be beside her and your kids, dasal kayo lagi or just be quiet with her.. JUST BE THERE. tingin ko laang...

of course, prayers will help a lot. kahit cynical at bitter ako paminsan minsan, naniniwala pa rin ako sa miracles. kapit lang pre.  god bless. :cool2:

nagmamahal,
ate charo  :-*
hehehe, pinapatawa lang kita indo, heavy tyo dito bigla e..

o yung mga nakikibasa jan, baka gusto nyo mag advice, lalo na yung personally dumaan sa ganyang krisis... the floor is open.. bawal lang pets... like parrots. *tumira-pa-rin

pag asawa siguro, uuwi ako. may emergency leave naman mga OFW diba? just to check up on her and assess the situation. kung may sapat na ipon (pampagamot at budget for the family for 1 year atleast), resign or end contract. kung kulang ang pera, hanap muna ng malilipatan bago magresign or end of contract... pero kung gaya nung kay INDO na sagot ng kumpanya lahat ng medical expenses, bah, hulog ng langit talaga yan...

About the Course

PART OF THE WHARTON MBA FOUNDATION SERIES

Accounting is the language of business. This course is part of the Wharton MBA foundation series in the MOOC format. Companies communicate their performance to outsiders and evaluate the performance of their employees using information generated by the accounting system.  Learning the language of accounting is essential for anyone that must make decisions based on financial information.
The course is designed to provide an understanding of financial accounting fundamentals for prospective users of corporate financial information, such as investors, creditors, employees, and other stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, customers).   The course focuses on understanding how economic events such as operating activities, corporate investments, and financing transactions are recorded in the three main financial statements (i.e., the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows). Students will develop the technical skills needed to analyze financial statements and disclosures for use in financial analysis.  Students will also learn how accounting standards and managerial incentives affect the financial reporting process.

Course Syllabus
The course is broken up into ten weekly modules:
•   Introduction and Balance Sheet
•   Accrual Accounting and the Income Statement
•   Cash flows
•   Working capital assets
•   Ratio analysis and Mid-course Exam
•   Long-lived assets and marketable securities
•   Liabilities and long-term debt
•   Deferred taxes
•   Stockholders’ equity
•   How to read an Annual Report and Final Exam

Recommended Background
The course is recommended for students with little or no prior background in financial accounting that want to improve their financial literacy.  There are no academic prerequisites for the course.  Although we will work with numbers in the course, the only required math knowledge is addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Suggested Readings
The course is designed to be self-contained.  Students wanting to expand their knowledge beyond what we can cover in this course or who want more practice problems or more in-depth explanations can consult any Introduction to Financial Accounting textbook that is geared toward MBA students.  Because the material in the course has been fairly unchanged for the past few years, any used prior editions of textbooks should be acceptable.

Course Format
The course will combine video of the instructor with Powerpoint slides to the deliver the material.  The lectures will be “interactive” in that the instructor will periodically ask students to pause the presentation and guess an answer before proceeding.  The videos will also cover “case studies” of real companies to illustrate the course concepts.  The course will provide eight short homework assignments and two exams.

FAQ
Will I get a Statement of Accomplishment after completing this class?
Contingent on academic performance, you will get a Statement of Accomplishment stating that you completed this course.  However, no certificate will be given from Wharton / Penn and successful completion of this course does not make you a Wharton / Penn alumnus.

What resources will I need for this class?
Everything you need will be provided via the Coursera platform.

What is the coolest thing I'll learn if I take this class?
You will not only better understand what people in the business media are talking about, you will also be able to notice when they don’t know what they are talking about!

About the Course

PART OF THE WHARTON MBA FOUNDATION SERIES

Remember the last time you went to a restaurant. What did you expect from that restaurant? You wanted to find something on the menu that you liked, you wanted the meal to be prepared according to high quality standards, you wanted to get it quickly and didn’t want to pay too much money for it. Now, remember the last time you went to a doctor’s office or a hospital. What did you want the doctors and nurses to do? You wanted them to provide the right care for you, you wanted the care delivered with great quality, you wanted to get the care quickly, and you (or your insurance) didn’t want to pay too much for it.

Put differently, the management skills that you need to run the operations of a restaurant are the same that you need to run a hospital. And these are the skills you will learn in this course. Specifically, you will learn how to improve productivity, increase responsiveness, provide more choice to the customer, and deliver higher quality standards. In short, you will learn how to analyze business processes and how to improve them. Along the way, you will learn about topics such as Lean Operations, Six Sigma, and the Toyota production system, you will hear about bottlenecks, flows rates, and inventory levels. And, much, much more.

Course Syllabus
The course is broken up into six modules:
1.   Introduction
2.   Process analysis
3.   Productivity
4.   Responsiveness
5.   Quality
6.   Product variety

There are two tracks in this course, an academic track and a practitioner track. For the academic track, the final grade is determined based on five homework assignments and a final exam. It is also possible to complete the course via a practitioner track, which requires the completion of a real world application project.

Recommended Background
The course is designed for business school students and executives. There are no academic prerequisites for the course; this is not a math course and nothing done in this course requires more than high school math.

This course will be helpful to students that:
•   are preparing for their career in business and want to lay some foundations
•   are in the middle of their career and have some real problems to solve right now

Suggested Readings
Although the class is designed to be self-contained, students wanting to expand their knowledge beyond what we can cover in this one-quarter class or who want more practice problems, more in-depth explanations, or more math should look at the following book:
Cachon, Gerard, Christian Terwiesch, Matching Supply with Demand: An Introduction to Operations Management  , 3rd edition, Irwin - McGraw Hill, 2012 (ISBN 978-0073525204, 507 pages)

Course Format
The class will consist of lecture videos, which are between 7 and 12 minutes in length. Many of them contain 1-2 integrated quiz questions per video. There will also be standalone homeworks that are not part of video lectures. The course ends with a final exam. For the practitioner track, students need to complete a course project along the way which, in each week, applies the learnings from the modules to a real world problem.

FAQ
•   Will I get a Statement of Accomplishment after completing this class?
Contingent on academic performance, you will get a Statement of Accomplishment stating that you completed this course. However, no certificate will be given from Wharton / Penn and successful completion of this course does not make you a Wharton / Penn alumnus.
•   What resources will I need for this class?
You will need access to a spreadsheet program, some paper, and a pencil. Nothing more.
•   What is the coolest thing I'll learn if I take this class?
You will look at the world with different eyes - you will start to detect bottlenecks, identify productivity wastes, and come up with ideas to improve business processes. A known side effect of these skills is that you might drive friends, family, or co-workers crazy when you point to their improvement opportunities...
•   What does a typical class look like?
In a typical video session, I will introduce a small case to outline a problem in an operation. That could be a hospital, a restaurant, a bank, a call center, or whatever other setting. We will then use the setting of the case to discuss various performance measures as well as what one might want to do to improve the operation.

The three core topics focus on customer loyalty. The first is about branding: given a very disparate world in which new startups are emerging constantly, brand equity is one of the key elements of keeping customers so that they have a trusted source for their needs. The second topic is customer centricity, which is taught in a global context where students learn how to gather needs and focus on the customer via discussion forums and empirical examples which are advanced by the mix of cultures in the course. Finally, the course explores practical, go-to-market strategies to help students understand the drivers that influence customers and see how these are implemented prior to making an investment.

Suggested Readings
Optional, recommended readings will be posted throughout the course at no cost to the student.

Course Format
There will be three modules of three weeks each that span the critical fundamentals of marketing.  Each module will be led by one of the three instructors; at the end of each module the three instructors will engage in a dialogue about the module and there will be an assessment covering the material. 1. bakit may "real" pa na qualifier sa relationship status, may fake relationship status ba? :p
relationship status: Not Married

2. Yes. Yup. Yeah. Yah. Nah for both.

3. nasabi ko na dati. gusto ko mula grade2 hanggang 4th yr college, magkaron ng subject about election, right to vote, citizenship, patriotism, public service or whatever appropriate subject to teach the next generation the value of their votes during election. baka madaan sa power of suggestion, ala jfk ba yun o lincoln-- ask not what your country can do for u but what u can do for ur country,or samting lyk dat.. imho the kind of government and politics we have right now is a legacy of the mistakes of past generations, panahon pa ni aguinaldo agawan na sa pwesto, hanngang kay marcos, kay gma... mga pagkakamali natin ngayon, ung susunod na henerasyon ang magdudusa, its a cycle. para matigil yung cycle, turuan ng tama yung susunod na henerasyon, hindi para sa kanila, kundi para sa susunod sa kanila. ung mga nasa henerasyon natin at mas matatanda, matigas na mga ulo hindi na makikinig kahit anong sermon ang gawin, kaya dun na lang sa mga bata... theory of evolution, hopefully the next in line will be better educated, more matured and patriotic citizens than us... ano ba timeline natin, 2050? libre lang mangarap..

5. "bakit kayo nagbreak ng ex mo?"
     > baket>>> DMD. Dahil sa Mutual Decision (na maghiwalay). :harhar:

ilan ang ex mo?girlfriends?haha
officially, 3. unofficially, +2 yata... :watchuthink:

not married. hindi ni sir vic sinabing "in a relationship" so meaning walang gelpren. base dito, nadeduce ko na si sir vic ay may ka-MU lang. may nilalandi pero hindi official na sila.

tama ba sir? may ka-MU ka lang?  :hihi:

hayzzz, dami ka-etchingan ni vic... mga ganyan sagot mo, kaya ko nilagay yung qualifier na "real"... ang daming klaseng not married -- mga live in, mga single, mga single but in a relationship, mga in an open relationship, or gaya ng sabi ni katkat may ka-MU lang... alin jan^?

2% per trade? and percent of what, total portfolio or 2% in every position/stock? parang maliit naman yung 2%, di kaya puro cut loss ka na nyan?

FG, forget the popcorn. Can't very well munch on it while I'm talking.

MOM:

#2. >friends becoming lovers and lovers becoming friends
You: Nah for both.
ff- up: to qualify- your female friends only (baka kasi may ma-afraid lol) Nobody accused you of being sexist yet? Like you see a girl with boobies and she is in that box or the other. Or worse, (from the side of those firmly in the friend box) of being "unhelpful" ? ( my favorite cousin answers to "garampang". he says he was just being "matulungin"  :D)

#5- DMD is the best kind. Still, was it a case of burn out or walang katinag-tinag na non-negotiables?

ilan ang ex mo?girlfriends?haha
You:  officially, 3. unofficially, +2 yata... :watchuthink:

Me: WHAT THA HECK is an "unofficial ex/girlfriend"? Is that the same as my imaginary friend? As in, there is interaction in some parallel universe? O yung feelingera lang na tipong " Benicio, puede mo ng gamitin ulit ang apelyido mo.Benecio del Torro sounds sexier."  Or yan yung tipong "we can't be seen together"?  #sorry, children. In my time, you either put up or shut up. or we are friends and i get to fix your wardrobe and you get a free pass to cry all over your drinks and go on and on about your ex and you're good to be called gago to your face until i get to hear about the next girl 3 months later. Daggurnit! Like life is not hard enough?!

wat is love..... wala akong sariling definition, pero may nadinggan ako dati at naretain sa utak ko, sabi nya-- to love is to give that other person the license to break your heart.. tama naman, kahit hindi romantic love.. talagang mas masakit pag mahal mo yung nakasakit sayo kumpara sa mga kaaway mo. tas parang ganyan din yung isang pick up line dun sa isang book, swabe---

Wag naman motibo - it sounds OA pagpapapansin na yung ganyan... just show "interest" or hindi averse to the idea na mag-date or hang out or what... Except kung dense yung guy, or torpe, then wala rin mangyayari..

2% per trade? and percent of what, total portfolio or 2% in every position/stock? parang maliit naman yung 2%, di kaya puro cut loss ka na nyan?

Stop loss set at 2% risk (Allan Hull, Active Investing)
*Note…this is for illustration only and  for anyone who wants to follow a mechanical, no questions asked, cold blooded, walang kinikilingan at walang kama-kamag-anak,  cut loss rule.. thing here though, hindi pa included ung fees/commissions, so maybe need pa rin iadjust  (approx. u need to add about 1%, so 3% risk bale)...

We have P50,000 total capital and we’re using the 2% risk rule. Let’s use EEI as example.
1. Assume that the closing price of its share is P12 and we have set the stop loss price at P10 (It is always assumed that the closing price, i.e., P12, is going to be our buy price).

2.The potential loss per share is: P12 minus P10 = P2

3. The amount of money we are prepared to lose is: 2% of 50,000 = P1,000

4. Divide P1,000 by P2 (potential loss) to get the number of shares we can buy = 500 shares

5. Multiply 500 by the closing price of P12 to get the position size = P6000

6. Divide 6,000 by 50,000 and multiply by 100 to get the percentage of total capital that can be spent on this position: 6000/50000 x 100 = 12% (also called portfolio weighting)

1 more example...

100k, with 2% risk… stock is SMPH, assuming it close at 20 (buy price) with stop loss of 16. Potential loss is P4.

2% of 100k is equal to 2000 (risk). divide by 4=500 (shares).

500 shares  x 20 buy price = 10000 exposure / 100k total trading capital = 10% of port

Sumthin’ like that… my previous disclaimer, i havent applied this on my trades myself, ung examples sa taas talagang sinubstitute ko lang yung figures , di ko pa inaral kung anong possible defects... anyThing wrong na mapansin or maisip nyo, i might not be able to answer, but we could discuss for academic purposes...  :watchuthink:

also, if u follow this rule with a trading capital of 100k for instance... it'll take you about 50 straight wrong decisions before your 100k goes nil... siguro naman maka 10 mali kang sunod sunod e mag iisip isip ka na kung naiintindihan mo ang ginagawa mo sa pera mo o baka dapat mamahinga ka muna...

of course if your stock advances, u can adjust your cut loss level using trailing stops to protect your gains, or if you are ok with losing all your gains and let profit become loss, u may fix your stop at the same 2% risk.

Ok, all questions have been answered.  Babay na… :hello:

A few questions for you, September MoM:-)

-When did you pass the bar? What led you to the legal profession? What frat, if any, do you belong to ?

- If it were up to you, who among these high-profile defendants would you never touch with a ten-foot pole even if, uhm, the price is right: the Ampatuans, GMA, Janet Napoles?

- Would you lawyer for someone you believe is guilty of a heinous crime?

Bago magkalimutan, can you reply to the above (slightly revised) questions? TIA and congrats again, vicces. :-)
