I had one bundle of these banknotes and I did get to sell a few at a premium (dorm fundraising) but only for P110 each!
Compared to regular banknote issues, I think 10 million isn’t much. This is more expecially so if everybody hoards their overprinted bills. On the other hand, even at P1500, the uncut bills are much, much better souvenirs and will cost so much more in the future.

@sherwin, I think the P100 UP Centennial bills are of particular interest to those who graduated from UP. It’s some sort of a once-in-a-lifetime souvenir from their university. Honestly, I think if you sell the bills to UP grads who have been out of the country for some time now, they might be willing to pay hundreds of dollars for it hehe…

Maybe it’s a good time for us to sell now before everybody realizes that they’re not exactly that rare as there are about 10million of them out there, though perhaps a vast fraction is being hoarded by speculators like you (and me). :)

honestly if people are buying at 300 to 500% of the face value, i think we should sell… ;)

I’m a bit surprised by what the oblation stamp can do to the 100 peso bill. :)

Hi Rex, so BSP printed 10 million pieces of the UP Centennial bills? That’s a lot. Apparently, that’s why the bills are now widely circulated. I’m collecting all UP Centennial bills that I get. Then probably a few years later, I’ll sell some at five or even ten times its original value hehe.

At first I thought the 10 million pieces the BSP printed is enough for the whole year until I saw most 2008 issues WITHOUT the overprint. Better hold on to some of those!
