Is this another case of “accidental deletion of sources” or a new instance of plagiarism in the Supreme Court (SC) of the Philippines?
No, we’re not talking about the Vinuya vs. Executive Secretary, G.R. No. 162230 (28 April 2010) decision penned by Associate Justice Mariano C. del Castillo but another decision penned by the same Justice which seemingly contains parts copied from various sources without proper attribution.

That’s all I can say about the news that eighteen (18) students of the University of the Philippines – Diliman (UP Diliman) are set to be awarded the highest academic award of summa cum laude in the University Graduation ceremony this Sunday, April 26, 2009.
P100 UP Centennial bills now being circulated
Have you gotten yourself a 100-peso bill with the UP Oblation logo on it?
I asked because it seems like the bills are now widely circulated. For one, some PMT readers posted comments in the article Limited edition Php100 UP Centennial bills that they are selling their bills (at a premium, that is).
Last month, I dined at Jollibee Philcoa and the change I got consisted of one UP Centennial P100 bill. A week later, I got another UP Centennial bill as change from Greenwich Philcoa.
Then last Saturday, I withdrew cash from a UnionBank ATM in Ortigas and, to my surprise, the ATM churned out five crisp, brand-new bills (see photo below).

Yesterday I finally got hold of my UP Centennial commemorative 100-peso bank notes.
In celebration of the centennial of the University of the Philippines, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas printed limited copies of P100 bills with an overprint of the UP Oblation, the symbol of the country’s premier state university, to the right of former Philippine Pres. Manuel Roxas.

You probably know by now that the University of the Philippines (UP) is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year but did you know that there’s a song officially commissioned for the occasion?
UP’s Centennial Song entitled UP, Ang Galing Mo! was created by jingle composer Herbert Rosales and sang by the UP Centennial Band.
The song may sound self-indulging to some people but, in any case, here it is with the lyrics and guitar chords.
