Pinoy Money Talk on MoneySense magazine
February 1, 2008
The 1st anniversary issue of personal finance magazine MoneySense featured Pinoy Money Talk as one of “noteworthy” blogs on personal finance. The list also includes the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s MoneySmarts blog and the Philippine stock trading forum FinanceManila.net.
Thanks for the mention but let us clarify that PMT is not really a “personal finance” blog because our articles don’t talk a lot about budgeting, financial planning, or managing finances. Not that we don’t consider those things important. It’s just that we know other sites provide much better information and also, we prefer to feature practical solutions to financial problems by writing about income and investment opportunities that may be of value to our readers looking for alternative or additional sources of income.
An additional clarification, too. The PMT blog officially started only in mid-2006 (not “July 2005″ as mentioned in the article) while the Pinoy Money Talk forum began in March 2005 (not “late 2004″).
That’s actually why we’re celebrating our 3rd Anniversary this coming March! (By the way, join our “Countdown to 3″ 3rd Year Anniversary contest and win P6,000!)
Still, we’d like to thank MoneySense Magazine for taking the time out to look at our website.

On pages 68-69 of the same issue of MoneySense, an article on online banking used PMT founder James Ryan Jonas as primary resource person. Author Raymond Calbay in “E-Banks: Untangle the Web of online banking,” talked about the growing trend of online banking in the Philippines and reiterated James’s opinion on what banks should do for online banking to prosper in the country.
