UP Centennial APO Oblation Run pics
June 19, 2008
In celebration of the centennial anniversary of the University of the Philippines, 100 members of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) fraternity sprinted naked in UP Diliman in a special edition of the Oblation Run.
Not safe for work pics (NSFW) after the jump.
The annual Oblation Run, which started in 1977, is usually held every December to voice the group’s protest on national issues but was held earlier this year in time for the centenary.
Contrary to popular belief, the famous Oblation Run was created not as part of the fraternity’s initiation rights but rather as a promotional stint for the organization’s 1977 play “Hubad na Bayani,” a homage to one of the group’s members who was killed in a rumble.

The “Centennial Run” was part of a series of activities yesterday celebrating the 100th year foundation of UP.
Early in the morning, students, faculty and administrators kicked off the celebration by forming a human chain around the Academic Oval while singing the UP Anthem and the UP Centennial Song.
Around lunch time, just after the Oblation Run, the University Council launched a fund-raising drive to renovate the student activity center Vinzons Hall.
In the evening, a free concert was held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) showcasing dozens of performers and celebrities.
