The new iPod Touch
September 6, 2007
The touch-screen interface of the iPhone has now been incorporated in Apple’s new iPod, and it’s aptly called the iPod Touch.
Users will also be able to scroll through menus with a light touch of a finger and use two fingers to resize photos (a la Microsoft Surface?).
Aside from the touch-screen function, the Touch has the ability to surf the web wirelessly using Apple’s Safari browser. It also includes a built-in YouTube player that lets a user watch YouTube videos.
Songs can now also be downloaded wirelessly directly to the player (eat that, Microsoft Zune!).
The iPod touch comes in 8GB and 16GB capacities and initially priced at $299 and $399.
More about the new iPod Nano and iPod Classic after the jump.
The new iPod Nano can now play videos.
It has a 2-inch screen that is brighter than previous models, comes with three built-in games, including an Arkanoid-like game called Vortex, and has improved battery life.
The silver-colored 4GB model sells for $149 while the rainbow-colored 8GB is priced at $199.
The original iPod (now called the iPod Classic) sports an all-new metal enclosure and enhanced user interface.
The iPod comes in 80GB and 160GB sizes, with 30 hours of battery for audio playback. The 80GB is priced at $249 while the 160GB sells for $349.

I just bought the 8gb model (actually my husband did, it was my birthday present) of the Nano. Before that I had a Zen Nano, which was easy to download into. I spent hours yesterday trying to figure out how to get music into the darn thing, then I finally realized that I needed itunes 7.4. I downloaded that, and haven;t yet tried again to dump some tunes into the Nano. It better work this time!!
