For Metrobank routing number it is indeed correct that it does not matter which branch, because I have a friend which I will be sending money to and he provided me with the routing number (cos I am outside Phils) which is the same as the above mentioned by FG and my friend is in Cotabato City.

The sad part is that my bank here does not have a routing number nor a swift code.

On eBay Philippines' Discussion Boards, an eBay staff posted a different bank code for Metrobank which is 010269996. They said they that within the next 24 hours, they will be publishing a list of all of the major banks and their corresponding bank codes.

Time got in the way so I could only check ChinaBank.

The routing number for the main branch in Manila is 010-100039 but there is a different one for every branch. It took a lot of time to get it, but once we got down our terminology, the bank was quick to offer helpful information.

The most helpful piece is this:
We are are looking for the BRSTN. Don't ask for routing number because you want a transfer. Ask for the BRSTN. As soon as I said that magic acronym, they knew exactly what I wanted.

It's the Bank Routing Symbol Transit Number.

For Chinabank, the BRSTN is different for EVERY branch, but at the branch I went to, it took the manager mere seconds to rattle off the number. Of course it was for the branch in Cebu, not the main office where the account is. It took a call on the customer service to get that one.

Finally, eto na: Official list of PayPal Philippines Bank Codes

It looks like Paypal has its own idea of the bank code, kasi mukhang walang tumama sa mga hula nating bank codes nung una. Kahit ang Metrobank at BPI, mali ang ibinigay na bank code dati. Katatawag ko lang sa Unionbank at BPI uli at hanggang ngayon, wala pa silang kaalam-alam kung ano ang "bank code." Tsk, tsk...

love it, katana_hunter! thanks for the update! at least, di na tayo mangangapa. in furlnezz, paypal has been helpful ah. ambilis ng pag-approve ng withdrawal natin to phil local banks.

...so ang next tanong naman natin ay kung meron nang successful transaction and how long it would take.

^I'm sure there people who've already tried. I'm trying it out myself tomorrow. May hinihintay lang kasi akong bayad from a client kaya di ko pa magawa. Irereport ko dito ano'ng nangyari.

I assume it would take longer than a week, just like what happened before when the withdrawal to a Visa card was still new.

I don't think we can already fund our PayPal account with our Philippine bank account. The option is only available if you add a bank account in the US.

Ask ko lang what is the correct Bank Name if gusto ko e add ang aking UnionBank EON account? Kailngan pa ba e specify na EON acct?

Withdrew >$500 yesterday (Jan 28) at 7PM. Will keep everyone updated.

I believe there's no limit in withdrawing to a bank account.

I also received an email from PayPal today announcing that they now offer the withdraw the bank account option. Question is why did they use a P5 bill which, I believe, is no longer in circulation?
