Hello, everyone -
I'm planning to withdraw my placement in Philam Balanced and Strategic Growth fund. What's the process po para makuha ko yung cash?
Thanks.

Just go directly to their office personally together with your certificate and your ID.  I think that's all what they need.

I have a question: I invested in Philam MFs during my leave early this month and the agent told me I'd receive the certificates within a week. I invested in 3 MFs and so far, I only got one certificate/ OR by mail. Could it be possible that the certificates got lost in mail who should I call to follow up? Thanks! :)

hi im a newbie here.. ive been planning to invest on the balanced fund of philam. after a thorough research on the fund i felt that it was just the investment for me... i called up philam and was able to talk with an agent. he said hell to just meet personally at the head office in makati for him to answer several of my queries... my mind was all made up to invest... until i read from your forum here in philam that certificates and even receipts are not even given to you at the day of investment! it made me fear, as i am about to invest a large portion of my savings... i felt that it might be a incompetency on the part of philiam to delay something as important as giving out receipts.. made me have second thoughts... how can i sleep at night thinking ive invested a lot of money to a fund that will make me wait for months for a receipt and certificate... i wanted to invest then invest monthly for a long period of time but the process in investing in these fund seems stressfull...
please advice me. thank you

^^ and ^ may MF din ako sa PAMI--GSIS and PFI. i just started last january 2008.

hindi naman ganun katagal yung certificate unless matagal na sa inyo yung three weeks. according to my agent, may sina-submit pa kasi sa PSE ata (or SEC) kaya nadelay yung certificates ko and receipts. like you, i was concerned kasi provisional receipts lang ang nakuha ko the first time.

bluegenes, kulitin mo yung agent mo. that's what i did. i also thought it would be sent through mail but in the end, it was my agent who sent it to me.

tonyd, i suggest you issue a cheque instead of giving cash. that's what i also did because i was worried that i'll be giving cash to the agent, who i don't really know. at least pag cash, nakapangalan na sa PFI and GSI.

Actually when I invested in GSIS, PFI and PSGF just last March, my agent told me he'd personally drop it off, not mail it. Kaya nagulat ako when my sister told me she received the certificate (GSIS only so far) through mail.

Also I don't have cheque and I work overseas. My agent is a neighbor sa Pinas pero medyo mabagal lang regarding sa mga feedbacks kaya minsan nakakafrustrate on my end (kasi nga malayo ako.) kaya minsan, sister ko ang kinukulit ko re: certificates. In fairness, he did give me a list of bank account numbers for the MFs so I can remit from here (overseas).

Leela are you able to view your PAMI portfolio online? PAMI website is quite cluttered don't you think? GSIS MFs directs me to another website that's not PAMI. Thanks!

hey leela thanks for the feedback... its kinda comforting to know that... you know its our hard earned money were talking about here, i dont mind the delay of certificates but the O.R is what im concerned of... its a proof that you indeed invested. i wouldnt want to invest and go home without anything but the word of an agent that he/she would mail it.. the questions of what ifs comes to mind, what if they deny that you gave money and you dont even have an official receipt to prove it. it just made me wonder, dont they keep a pad of receipts in their offices? even restaurants issue official receipts after eating... why cant a multibillion company do the same. isnt it illegal that an official receipt is not given to you on the time of purchase. your suggestions really help me i appreciate it... since it worked for you, ill take ur word for it. i think cheque payments would be wiser. and by the way, i read just now from the pami website that you can deposit ur investments through pami'sbank account and the deposit slip willserve as ur receipt in a way... has anyone tried investing through bank deposits? is there deductions made to it? and also i would like to ask if it will be better to invest in mutual funds monthly or yearly? for a neophyte investor like myself ur advices are very helpful. :thankyou:

i also want to share with you guys...about the person i talked to in pami who said that he'll show me the different funds for me to choose from, i asked him if he was an agent... he replied that he was not, but they are called as "financial consultants"  are'nt they agents which i earlier refered to them coz they take commisions from ur investments? would anyone be kind enough to refer me to your trusted agents/ financial consultants. i want to invest right away...

bluegenes, ah, you're out of the country pala. i understand why you're concerned about it. i guess it really depends on the agent. yung sa akin, i received my GSIS/PFI certificates at the same time since hinatid nung driver nung agent.

i already deposited additional investments in my GSIS. through bank ko din ginawa, deposited it to metrobank. and i just enrolled the PFI account in my bpi expressonline para online transfer na lang. like you, careful din ako paying in cash kasi mahirap na...so far, wala pa yung certificates ko for the additional investment pero hindi ako masyadong concerned kasi diretso sa account ng GSIS ko dineposit so hindi puwedeng itakbo ng agent if ever. and i keep the deposit slip.

surprisingly, PAMI's website is not updated kaya we are not able to view the investments online. yun din ang una kong tanong dito sa boards. meron kasi ang sunlife, eh. but PAMI sends quarterly reports regarding your investments so i'm just waiting for it. i just keep track of the amount i've invested in an excel file para alam ko. you're right, medyo cluttered site nila. tsaka hindi ko alam kung updated yung NAVS nila dun so i just look at the NAVS from PSE's or ICAP's site.

tonyd, have you given the cash na to your agent? did he give you a provisional receipt? that's what my agent did. better call the office and follow up.

like i said, i've tried depositing money to GSIS via metrobank and i kept the receipt. i also faxed the form to PAMI for proof that i deposited additional investment. yes, keep the deposit slip although i don't know lang kung considered OR na ito. but it's solid proof that you've deposited something. hindi ko lang alam kung may deductions kasi i haven't received the certificates first.

you can check the first thread about MFs. dami advice ng mga seasoned investors dun. basically, from what i've read, it's better if you invest on a regular basis, say, monthly, to take advantage of cost averaging.

regarding an agent, i think someone in this thread is a PAMI agent. si rainmen ata.

yes i am a financials advisor from AIG PhilamLife
sorry for the late certificates, we have upgraded our system and units that produce your certificates, rest assured that our fund managers will never be late in taking care of your investments.

some of the certificates also will be mailed to your door steps

the best way to invest is cost averaging, do it regularly even if the amount is substancial but do it regularly.
not only you develop the habit of savings, you also gain from this system.
