yep, the tax really hurts traders especially during a this kind of market atmosphere na mahina...sa mga online brokers at least maliit lang ang commission but for really live brokers mas malaki pa ang idadagdag mong payment..

tanung ko lang po. tama ko ba pagkakaintindi ko sa mga trends. .
for example yung philex (PX) http://www.pse.com.ph/html/MarketInformation/stockinfo.jsp?securitySymbol=PX uptrend sya tapos yung SMPH http://www.pse.com.ph/html/MarketInformation/stockinfo.jsp?securitySymbol=SMPH downtred. anu po mas risky sa mga to? kasi pag sa px ka nag invest bka in d future bumagsak sya malaki mawawala. pero pag sa sm maybe in future tumaas sya kasi down trend sya ngayon. tama bang mas magandang maginvest ka sa sm pag napansin mong tumataas yung trend nya or mag risk ka sa px na continuous yung uptrends nya? sory baluktok tagalog ko. chinese here! sory po sa abala sa inyo lng ako pedeng lumapit ngayon

and can you suggest some local books bout stocks na pede iorder sa net. .

hi there guys, is it advisable for someone like me who's working 8 to 5 everyday to open an online trading account? sayang lang ba? i can open the internet at the office but do i really need to spend more time with it?

i really am interested kasi on this online trading....are there transactions even on saturdays?....thanks..

^Online trading simply means that you do your transactions online. It doesn't necessarily mean that you have to look at it every minute--unless you want to be a day trader that is. I myself have a full time job and I only look at my portfolio about once a week. The only transaction you can make on weekends is an off hour order which will not be executed until normal trading hours. I suggest trying the stock trading game first before taking the plunge otherwise you might get burned.

i agree with 2mbaga. just make sure you have the discipline not to look at your charts excessively during work hours (or don't look at it all until the end of the work day). it probably will become an issue not only with your bosses but with your colleagues.

@ronyqui, it depends..

do you see PX extracting more gold/copper? Mine life nito is up to 2010-2014 only. It is also expensive to put up a working mine.

for smph, they thrive in rental income.. they also expanded in china..

it is not enough to look into charts.. u need to look into fundamentals.. unless you want to study the charts day in & day out.

ronyqui, wala pa kong nakitang local books on stocks worth reading. wala pang market para duon. nasa 50,000 lang ang stock investors sa atin against 88million population. there are many stock books sa amazon.com just follow the stock trading principles ng foreign authors. recommend ko ang kay benjamin graham books

sir mike qc thanks for the info. the "retired in 30's" thing really inspired me. i think ill invest in blue chip stocks but for the meantime magkukulong muna ako sa kwarto and start reading books about stock market.

rony,

kung long term ang gusto mo style basahin mo yun buffet or graham but kung short term trader gusto mo yun mga daytrading or swing trading stocks ang basahin mo..di mo kasi pwede mix yan matatalo ka lang .sa long term kasi mas malaki ang risk because you have to ride the swings.hope it helps....

Mag register ka then log in every 9am - 12pm meron ka ng 1M na play money

actually ok rin tong trading game no loss ka dito ako kasi sumabak agad sa trading ayun -30% to date hehehe expensive lesson leaned

suggest ko lang kung meron kayong extra cash that you dont need until you die, maybe about 10k, just try investing. kasi if you will use your own real money, i'm sure, you will try to invest it in a stock with relative safety. sayanglang opportunity in playing using play money. ganun din yun, di naman kayo gagaling ng husto.
