^ In the US, there really are a lot of fees associated with a mutual fund investment. In the Philippines, there are various fees to be paid as well (e.g., sales load, management fees, etc.) so an MF investor should really read the prospectus and understand everything about the MF first before making that first MF investment.

sales load are divided among service fee, fund management fee, etc.

sir rainmen sa philam po kayo diba?
so sales load lang talaga ang i-eexpect na fee? as in wala nang iba? kaya di pwedeng magkaroon ng hidden charges tama po?...

@thechief, not exactly... may exit fee rin kng mg eexit ka within 2 years ata I'm not sure
about the number of years

At may iba pang fees pero reflected na to sa NAV.

So yung direct fees ay yung sales load at exit fee if any at yung ibang fees
indirect na.  :D

Sir, Rainmen

I have PSGF and Kabuhayan MF in Philam. I wanted to add more but it takes too much time to go to Makati just to top off.  Is there an easier way to add more? I have been regularly increasing my mf investment in Philequity because I can just add in any Ebiz outlets. I live in Bacoor, Cavite near SM Bacoor. I have inquired in 3 Philamlife offices including the main in Alabang but no one seems to know the answer. Hope you can help.

if you have agents before, they should take care of your top-up, if you invest directly to the offices of Philam they should send someone to handle your accounts. I ca'nt volunteer myself as much as I wanted to help you, I might step on somebody's foot.

having an agent is better if your agent is servicing you well
for example:
when you add to your investment, agent can pick it up for you
if you want to withdraw, agent can do it for you also
and if you want regular updates on your investment, your agent have all the info
this are the advantages.

As far as i Know, walang disadvantage ang may agent,it's a plus pa because you will be informed regularly.Ako inde nahihiya mag tanong sa agent ko kasi friends na kami, dinalhan pa ako ng bibingka ng agent ko na pinaluto pa nya sa dad in law nya.
In short, pareho lang din babayaran mo if you place an investment with an agent or going to their office yourself.

I invested 50K sa pilam mutual fund, ung GSIS MF nila, it was last year, dati lagi ko chinecheck ung value pababa ng pababa

So pano ba talaga yun kikita? Kelangan ba abangan ko na mataas ung value then ilabas ko ung pera ko pag mataas na? Sabi sa kin let it stay for around 2 years, eh pano kung after two years nun eh bumaba pa lalo ung value, e di wala pong kinita ung pera ko?
