Hindi lang kayo lucky mam. Super lucky!!!.. Philam MFs are among top 3 funds sa Pinas.. :)

Yung isa kong kasamahan na nag invest , few years back, they were able to get their travel expenses sa Holy Land dahil din sa Philam MFs :)

Investing in MF is definitely good for beginners. Pero kung may know how ka naman na and expertise in stocks, bakit ka pa mag MF especially if you have the time to spare.

I view MF as a stepping stone to greater investments. Parang testing the waters muna. And also para na din dun sa mga mas gusto mag focus sa work nila.

For me I got both- stocks and MF. From time to time kasi I'm comparing, mas malaki ba kinita ng stocks ko or ng mf ko. If for some time makita ko na mas malaki pa kinikita ng MF ko, what's the use na mag stocks ka di ba.

Pero so far with all the time I use to monitor my stocks, nabe beat ko naman ang mf ko.

hi po.

i'm a newbie here. interested po kasi aq sa pagiinvest pero wala akong alam tungkol s mga yun, i'm currently working abroad but not so long I have 50k savings but I also have some debts sa sister q where she's not forcing me to pay but I need to pay someday... i'm really interested sa pagsasave and everything...

Panu po ba ako mkakapagstart jan sa MF,UITF or VUL?

Magknu po ba ang minimum money requirement?

Okay lang po ba na maginvest while I'm here?

Okay po ba yung citisecOnline?

Really i don't know where to start!

Salamat po in advance... Godbless

The only pitfall of stocks is lack of flexibility. Unlike MF, i think you cannot shift gear from aggressive-moderate-conservative approach and vice versa.

Typically when you are reaching age of retirement, and due to risk of market falling, you cant be in all-in sa stocks, right?  But in MF, you can gradually move from equity to bond to secure your investments.

Anyway, either you profit in stocks or equity MF, that's still in paper gain (potential rewards only).. Unless we liquidate and 'realize' that gain and use it for a definite purpose..Its still subject to market risk..

Which ever instrument use, importante pa rin ang pre-define exit strategy because of the inherit risk ng market ..

FAMI SALEF is back after some dips fews weeks ago. It is now back above 20% level. As usual, I am going to add na naman. This is better than placing you money in the bank if you are looking the long term.

VULs have loyalty bonus. I don't know with other companies but with Insular Life if you do not withdraw for the past 10 years you will receive loyalty bonus on investments from the 11th year and every year onwards as long as you continue to invest.

For MFs, you don't have to wait for loyalty bonus.. the counter for bonus of the MFs is cash dividend (from dividend stocks holding of the fund) and interest income (debt instruments) given every year which are automatically reinvested by the MF on behalf of the shareholders like us, either you invest regularly or not.

most MFs don't give out dividend outright, instead they reinvest it to maximize the coumponding effect of dividend. The last MF I know who provide such if Philam strategic (PSGF) via stock dividend.

Stock dividends and cash dividends are available for MFs and VULs. I am not so familiar with the PSGF. Did the NAVS/NAVPU increase after the stock dividend or did the number of units oustanding increase after the stock dividend?

As far as I understand a stock dividend, it does not automatically increase the NAVS/NAVPU nor does it increase the number of units you own. It merely increases the number of shares owned by the fund but automatically decreases the market price of the shares who declared a stock dividend to the extent of the stock dividends.

For example ABC Corp market share before stock dividend is P100/share and ABC Corp issues 5% stock dividends. Does a stock dividend automatically raise the value of the company? Most often the answer is no. Thus the market price of ABC Corp is expected to decrease by 5% because of the increase in the number of shares outstanding. Thus, the new market price per share will be down from P100 pesos to P95.23.

What is the effect of it to the fund? It does not increase the market value of the ABC Shares owned by the fund, thus it does not increase the NAVS/NAVPU nor it increases the units outstanding in the fund.

Yes, may risk din, kaya nga it is for long term investment.. Kasi mark to market din ang valuation nito, so when the market is down, pwede din maapektuhan ang investment mo.. Pag up, up din ang investment mo..No need to worry naman kasi may fund manager naman na nagmamanage ng fund, kaya nga fund managers, haha. Joke lang..

May holding period na 5 years if gusto mo walang charges..zero load.

Kung anytime naman gusto mo redeem yung shares mo, pwede naman..
