Life insurance is a product bought based on trust on the company providing it. So I guess that's how we should anchor our choice.

IMHO,this is just me.i don't invest in VUL because i got insurance already.MF is MF,insurance is insurance parang shampoo and conditioner.Ikaw ang mag control how much shampoo or conditioner your hair needs.

^ same pa rin po FE.investment is investment.Tsaka iba iba naman ang needs ng tao when it comes to insurance.People who don't have dependents don't have to buy life insurance.tama na yung magipon sya para may pang libing sya.(morbid yata ah

)He can buy medical or accident insurance though.

^FE,a very good friend of mine has been investing in stocks and MFs and lots of insurance for her retirement(i dunno what's the correct term for it) Is it called annuity? then her agent suggested to her to invest in VUL (taiwan po to ha).I visited her one day and she was complaining about her VUL ,mahina daw.mas magaling pa daw sya( friend ko) mamili ng MF kesa dun sa MF manager nung insurance company.She was able to compare kasi she was already investing in mF and she was doing well.She's 12 yrs older than me,she shares her investment experience,wag daw ako mag invest sa VUL,ako susunod lang sa kanya kasi she knows what she's saying at may sense talaga.

Inde ko po alam ang case sa Pinas,inde ko po sinasabing wag kayong mag invest sa VUL.share ko lang po yung dito sa Taiwan.wag po magalit ang mga insurance agents sa akin.i met an insurance agent here and i invested with him sa MF and i earned 100k in 3 months.i have nothing against the agents po.

malawak na siguro investing/trading experience nya, baka +/-10to15yrs na.

saludo ako sa mga self-reliant.
yan ang lagi ko sinasabi dito-- maging self-reliant dahil kaya natin talunin yang mga manager na yan (kasi mas flexible tayo kesa sa big funds), basta todo focus, practice at aral lang.

There's a saying sa "new" financial industry, your best interest is not the best interest of an agent. Because he earns on commission basis.
Meron talaga good agents there siguro and will objectively give you sound financial instruments (maswerte kung mameet-meet mo siya).

Dont want to sound anti-VUL.. But comes worst case scenario, your insurance and investment is controlled by one entity. Taking diversification into the picture, never put your eggs in one basket and one company.
