@bluegenes
This financial model has put order in my family's finances and how we handle it. It is achievable tyaga ka nga lang ng konti and dapat discipline and commitment. I'm sure you and your friends can do it also. :)

photog question lang po, how about inserting #10 Investment right after #6? If you invest wisely that would accelerate #7,8 and 9..

@dropzite
You can actually do that if your risk appetite can handle it. This model favors liquidity and conservativism, two things that I prefer so I like following this model. The beauty about financial models is that we can adjust it to suit our tastes so if you prefer to accelerate your financial program, then by all means go for it. Make sure lang na you think and re-think your investments para hindi sayang. :)

Very cool.. Simple but has a lot of sense.. Sometimes we forget these things. I think they're essential..

1. pay yourself first. in simple terms, magtabi muna ng pera bago gumastos.

in my present work, i'm lucky to find a company na may good employee savings program. in just my third month, i enrolled agad in the program. every month, 10% of my salary is automatically deducted and transferred to that savings program. my money is pooled with the rest of the employees' savings. my money grows at 10% interest rate. in my four years with the company, i've already reached more than 100K in savings.

2. live simply.

if you don't have the cash to pay for something, don't buy. check the unnecessary expenses you incur everyday and reduce it. i follow suze orman's question, "can you afford it?" if you cannot, you're denied.

3. teach your family.

i married someone who was a big spender. when we got married three years ago, he had 120K in credit card debt. it's a total shock to my system because i grew up without debt. the only debt i had was in my credit card (about 15K) but i considered it "good debt" because i used my CC to pay for my MBA studies. but i no longer have CC debt in my last year of MBA.

i just showed him how money works for us, how i save my money, how we are able to save for emergency, etc. i also religiously watch suze orman and kahit inis na inis siya kay suze orman, wa siya choice kung hindi manood because we only one TV. hehehe. eventually, natuto din siya.

his CC debt has already gone down to 60K in just 6 months. :D

@blushy_blushy

a year and a bit of watching preacher in blue jeans and 10 months of reading books of experts like RK, donaldtrump, LG and trace trajano at kahit anong basa ko dito sa PMT, i cant get myself to get started in real life...  sana wag kayong gumaya sa akin na medyo slow... late na nga ako nung nag-umpisa mag-aral about finance eh late pa ako nung magsimula mag-invest in real life. nung finally nauntog ako at narealize ko kung gaano kadaming chance at time ang sinayang ko ay inis na inis ako sa sarili ko... as in literally,  gusto ko bumalik ng 5 yrs.. pero di pede eh... ang inisp ko na lang sana in another 5 yrs time eh di ko uli un sasabihin sa sarili ko.

 life insurance- insured kami against sa price na haus... at may home insurance

May God bless us more so we can bless others more...
