i don't think that is the context that you should take what i have written.

when i said "bandwagon mentality", people do something- in general- when they see a lot of people are doing it.  commodities, fad, fashion, market outlook, investments, etc. look around- if there is a craze on something- may it be havaianas (sp?) slippers or a new MLM venture or Facebook- people get involved by droves there.

it is the same reaction for an average person who suddenly found himself with extra cash who wanted to grow it.  not everybody has the patience and discipline to research and learn and sit around on a newfound knowledge and opportunity to further study it.  personally, they ought to have but they never do. of course, this is not me saying an average person remains to have that "bandwagon mentality" forever. what happens after the initial experience varies.

of whether an average pinoy is a spender or a saver is an entirely different bucket to rattle.

ano ba naging basehan ng the average person has a bandwagon mentality? dahil ba ito sa mentalidad na average Pinoys na pag may uso bibili... pag may bagong gadget bibili?

I think most of Pinoy (agree with sir allan) is definitely spenders, Even I admit na spender ako minsan...

how about opening a savings account and saving monthly? would you consider it as going with the flow?

If it's spending yeah.. I definitely agree na joining the bandwagon ay normal sa average Pinoy / even most satin..

pero sa investing...... hmm this would be different as it involves risk of losing money..

For Mutual Funds, you don't need to personally visit them, just send them the application form and deposit slip and your ok.. you may want to check this out.

TD = time  deposit
SDA = special deposit accounts
RTB = retail treasury bonds

yung mga acronyms po matututunan nyo ang mga ibig sabihin nila along the way, basta tuloy tuloy lang ang basa-aral nyo.

Maaaring ligaw na tanong po ito, what do you think is a better yung High Conviction Fund ng BPI or ung FAMI po na equity MF?
