bjj, yes you can roll all over the floor laughing. My fault, I'm sure.

@kithe- sorry about that. Still got the TA bug.

What I meant was: If you plot the trendlines of a single MF, say an equity fund, will it show readings like the ones you see on a chart of a single stock? Will it tell you the same signals like "do it", "don't do it" or " don't make a move or you will die". Ganyan.

Tsaka I was asking kung you can use trendlines to just about anything that has a chart.

^ Possible din na totally foolish question yan.

oi, di ako gumugulong sa tawa... ngisi lang. :D at least kithe is giving u the opportunity to clarify yourself.

di ba yan naitanong sa seminar? nung time ko, naalala ko ang sabi, sa index yata pwedeng irelate certain types of mf/uitf-- equity fund ba yung stocks-heavy? kung anuman yun, sila ang may correlation.

saka TA principles are equally applicable to forex, stocks, commodities, ETFs. afaik.

sir ano magandang mf mag invest? nag try lang ako ng rtb last feb.. nag invest ako 1M.. meron pa ako xtra money pero nilagay ko sa time deposit, which is sobrang baba ng interest umabot lng ng 3100 hehe.. kakapikon
I think someone has post here na previously, in 80's or 90's, banks are offering high interest.

Yung low interest rate, nowadays, on banks is the "norm" na.. Dahil flooded ang banking system natin ng Trilions of pesos (na either nasa TD or SDA), the interest rates are low (case of high supply of money, thus demand by banks is relatively low).

Just check pifa.com.ph, you can choice any of the top 3 that are performing well in the 3-yr, 5-yr timeframe. That's how i started on choosing my funds.

Note: Investing in MF has risk, so have a investment plan suited to your risk profile.

Hi! we're planning to invest sa MF any suggestions what's d "best company" ? Since starter plang kami medyo confuse pa tlga kung UITF ba or MF ang best way na pasukan s investment,,,long term prefered namin,, any advice? thanks a lot...

You can start both, if you have the funds to do it. Then, you can compare for a year and find out yourself kung ano mas convinient for you to stick with.

BTW, i tried this before and just stick with MF instead of UITF :) Technically, kung pareho silang equity fund.. they are invested in the same market, the PSE. Magkaiba lang kung sino ang nagmamanage..

what's d "best company" ?
We can never say which is really the best.
Base on my observation, there are 3-4 different MF companies rotating as #1 performer in the past few years.

For me personally, as long I chose an MF that's above or equal to the performace return ng PSE index on the long term, im satisfied already.

Are you referring to Ghost Month, which is August? Kung gusto mo maganda ang pasok sana nun Jan/ Feb nag start ka na kasi like yun FAMI Equity ko eh 4.11 ko nakuha noon eh ngayon umabot na sya ng 4.50 something.

hindi ako veteran but here's my 2cents.
- 1st step. the most difficult thing to do is the first step. but once you conquer it, sunod sunod na yan. it will give you confidence. learn well from mistakes.

try mo lang agad, kahit small amount. then continue studying.. continuous improvement kumbaga :)

Asa 3rd year pa lang ako sa investing sa MF.. So i must be categorize as Junior  (after being Rookie, Sophomore sa larong basketball)  :)

The best time to invest , WAS 3 yrs ago for me. NAVPS then was around 2.0-2.1
The next best time to add investment IS today.

If you will observe the news this 2012..
NY Times, CNBC, HSBC, and other institutional foreign investors are looking at Phils as a potential.

Sa mga Pinoy, its seems not much are interested to invest back sa Pinas.  Either we don’t know it or we are busy doing something else :)

Note: Investing has inherit risk, not suitable for everyone..

The question is....WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIMING TO INVEST??? Since I am leaving abroad and will go home for a vacation on the Jan. 2007, that would be the time that I might invest. Is that a good time to invest?

Any tips, info, advice would be most appreciated. Thanks!

 :eek:xiaomei

I hope this TS has invested when he started this thread back in 2006.. Laki na sana returns from his MFs.

Now, its 2012.. Baka 2018 uli, we can look back on this thread :)

I meant, dapat you started investing BEFORE - not next month or next year - because the navps was LOWER BEFORE than now. Example ko yun 4.11 sya during Jan/ Feb 2012 then now umabot na sya ng 4.50 - so siguro next year pwedeng 4.70 (?) Ganito kasi yan, you should invest when the navps is lower kasi kikita ka if you redeem it when it's higher tha when you invested the money.

Moving forward... The second best time is NOW as in right now as long as open ang Metrobank.  :hihi:

Andito rin ako sa Saudi, if you want to open a mutual fund account or UITF account na convenient para sateng mga OFW, open ka ng account s BPI (pede ka mgopen sa Telemoney or Speed cash) after mong mkpgopen ng BPI account, i-enroll mo cya sa online banking tapos available din don sa options ung investment makikita mo don ung Mutual funds at UITFs, i-enroll mo lng ung BPI account mo sa mutual funds at UITFs at presto mamomonitor mo na ang investments mo. Mas maganda kung ggwin mo e2 sa Pinas kasi pg dito kaya request mo sa BPI online account mo kelangan mong ipa-mail which is matagal compare kung asa pinas ka mas madali at mas madali mong mkkita ang accounts mo.
