mokongboy, would you be willing to share what other stocks you currently have in your portfolio, and possibly, what made you choose them (I assume FA din ang basis mo in all of them)? ok lang naman if you opt to withhold the info. ;)

Thanks for following this post... i hope to see one of your critics soon.

I am still learning the ins and outs of investing in the stock market. My biggest losses are still from mining and those trades on highly speculative "Basura" stocks (eto ung dala ng emosyon na tipong masabi lng na may stock ako nyan... kitam taas ng gain nya today noh... pero kinabukasan sadsad na sadsad).

So far my most successful method was to compare the PE ratios of stocks within the same industry. Added secondary filters such as P/B and market capitalization.

Hiya pa ako ipakita ung portfolio ko eh kc sumisigaw syang RED..  Biggest losses are with ORE and MARC (damn those mining stocks). Best performing stocks as of the moment are MEG and EEI.

Mag Hype Lang ako ng Stuck ko....

ORE
----------------------------------------------------
Effective Price 2011: Php3.8 per share
EPS 2011 = Php 0.3219 per share

Current Price: Php 5 per share
EPS 2012 1st half only = Php 0.3265 per share
----------------------------------------------------
(Very Shallow) Estimate EPS 2012 = 2 x 0.3265 =  Php 0.6531 per share

(Very Shallow) Estimated Price at the End of 2012 = 3.8 x 0.6531/ 0.3219 = Php 7.71 per share (PEx11.81)

Disclaimer... Ore is half of my portfolio. KAHBYAHT as always!!!

I bought a small portion of CPG yesterday @Php1.4 per share in anticipation of a good 2012 1st half report. The STS indicator seems to have a buy signal already. RSI was pointing up, however, it ended neutral. Hopefully the MACD will cross the MACD signal anytime soon.

The Good...
It is a high possibility that CPG's 1st Half earnings will still be attractive even with a mediocre second quarter earnings (Q1 will dampen any bad performance on Q2).

The Bad...
CPG is still in a downtrend. CLSA has been dumping shares since monday (Do they know something that everybody else doesn't???)

They requested for an extension in submitting  their 1st half report.

The Ugly...

If you believe in Aughost...I may have entered pre-maturely.

might be another false breakout for CPG. Pero pag tuloy2x, then masaya tayo :)

Obligado talaga mag long term... bagsak mga metal prices dahil sa euro-zone crisis. it may take them 2 years or more to recover. I just hope that Indonesia really bans exporting nickel. ( umaasa!!!)

What about stocks for the long term? Value stocks or Dividend Stocks?
Hindi pa ako invested sa stock market, planning pa rin ako
assignment kasi namin dati sa isang subject namin in school is to pick a company and give recommendations on buy, sell, or hold
then inupdate ko lang siya as of August 17, 2012 Friday

Can I suggest a value stock?

@proudtobepinoy
How do you define value stocks against dividend stocks? And when you say long term - does this mean 5 to 10 years?

If you ask me what stocks are "value stocks/ dividend stocks" here are my picks (I hope you do your due diligence before dipping your toes into these stocks):

Value stocks: Usually Utilities and Energy Related Stocks
MWC, MER, SCC, tapos ung angkan ni LPZ --> FPH, FGEN, EDC

Dividend stocks:

MB, SCC, PSE, PNX, TEL, TA...
SPICYSIOMAI has his own scanning of dividend stocks

Did you notice SCC appearing on both? (i'm planning to add SCC to this portfolio).

For stocks with having a horizon of 5 to 10 years? I'd go for mining.

Can I suggest a value stock?

Of course... What do you have in mind???

Actually long-term for me would be 20 years, masyado bang mahaba?
yes utility nga sana yung isusuggest ko and nasabi mo na eh, mwc
based from my assignment good buy siya if your holding period is at least 20 years
pero sa ngayon kung short-term ang pag-uusapan (at least 1-month) medyo overbought siya pero still not a good time for sell.

I can't say kung masyadong mahaba ang 20 years or hindi. It dependot on the person's personality. Para sakin mahaba ung 20 years, mababagot ako.  :D

Posted Good-Till-Month Orders (order expires after 30 days or when it is completely filled, whichever comes earlier) on two stocks.

VLL seems to have reached the bottom of the handle of a cup-and-handle pattern. JPMORGAN and MAKOY bought small portions last Friday.

FPH a stock, according to most brokerage firms, is undervalued (COL values FPH at about 120, its 2nd Quarter 2012 Book Value per share is about 20 points higher than that). Observing its chart, a possible range trade or accumulation for a potential bullish divergence may occur.

Property stocks have been slaughtered today. One of my off-hour orders was filled (VLL @ Php4.36/share).
Am I happy about it?  --> NO!!!  :hit:
Why not?  --> you should have stuck with the plan you eager beaver!!!  :hit:
(i was originally planning to enter at Php4.3/share)
