Best place to buy a retirement home?
« on: Aug 08, 2012, 05:12 PM »
Hi Forumers,

Need some advise.
1) Where should I buy property to build my retirement home?
2) Due to what happened this week, I want a flood proof area.  My sister told me Tagaytay is the best for that since it is "sloping" so it never gets flooded.
3) I am also considering Baguio because of the temperature.

Please share.  If you already have a retirement home, where is it located?  Any experiences?
 :thankyou:

Tagaytay should be a good choice I think

+1 Tagaytay

depends on what you want to do
and more importantly, what you can afford to do

although it is still too far to retire, i made a list in the selection of a retirement home as enumerated below:

1. dapat mura ang bilihin sa lugar (so it is not a big problem for retired persons kung may monthly budget lang sila)

2. dapat conducive ang environment (lots of air, lots of open areas, maganda ang kalsada).  mahirap sa retired persons ang sirang kalsada lalo na kung emergency.

3. familiar ka sa lugar (you are not a stranger in the area).  kung pwede you have relatives or in-laws living in the vicinity.  kailangan ng retired persons ang social life (believe me its the most important factor)

^^^ agree; those are some of the most important points to consider. for me:

cost of living
health care
social/support system
safety/security
transportation system (land/sea/air)

Home for the aged na lang para walang intindihin, lalo na doon sa walang pamilya, single forever. Save the money para doon.

Believe me, dont wait for 20 years.  You should plan your retirement now or as early as possible.

I started to planned my retirement when i was 25.

Nakapunta ka na ba sa Marikina duon sa home for the aged?  I have visited the place a few times in the past few years, mahirap, malungkot, at hindi kumportable ang buhay nila doon.  kaya nga laging may charity groups na bumibisita sa kanila eh.

try to check it yourself para you can start planning for your retirement.

^baka retirement community, ironwiki? I don't know if the one in SBMA eh natuloy. It was supposed to be for the japanese market. That supposedly came about when the nurses' assoc. in japan insisted that Fil. nurses should be fluent in nippongo before they can get hired. So a company explored the idea of importing the oldies here.

Sir Ironwiki

Pero syempre, mas masaya ang last days or years of your life kung relative mo ang kasama mo.. sobra naman walang puso yung anak or kamag anak na magdadala ng matanda dun..

Totoo yun.. Pwede na mangyari yun..
Pero pwede mo din paghandaan.. You can plan your retirement..
Retire with style.. Kahit single ka, mas okay pa din na marami ka pera pag retire mo, to enjoy the fruits of your labor.. You can buy the things you need.. Go to the places you like.. And help others in need.. Like pwede ka pa tumulong sa home for the aged pag retire mo.. :)
GOD LOVES YOU
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
