bynlee_3...remember when your teachers in college asked you to understand the whole Med Surg (vol 1 &2) then asked you to incorporate Psych, Pharma, Pedia 1&2, then OB 1&2 into it? Di ba nakakahilo? Just think of it that way... we all need to learn soo much and it takes a lot a time, patience, resources, analytical thinking and gut feeling at the same time. Don't rush... study first. :)

What is a good buy/selling strategy so as not to "chase the price"?  Kasi as a seller, we always want to get the highest possible price di ba?

 4 1/2 hours of sleep.....let's see....

QUOTE from bjj- (she's a supergirl princess accdg. to me(leave me alone-it's my POV))

"pano yayaman sa stocks: know what you're getting into-- whether it is one stock you are buying, or stock trading in general."

"knowing what you're getting into only means you know and understand the risk and are willing to take the risk
it does NOT mean you will get rich if you take the risk"

mikoangelo- poging walang katulad (kasali ba sya?)

Round 2
 Quote from p_p

"knowing what you're getting into only means you know and understand the risk and are willing to take the risk
it does NOT mean you will get rich if you take the risk."

Reply ni bjj

"it depends on what your definition of "knowing"; to me its not limited to "understanding the risk and are willing to take the risk". that's why i pointed out the micro (one stock) and the macro (the stock market/trading as a whole)"-----> ALERT: it's possible that the second statement is a ninja move- ninja's can do anything!!!

"and re-reading the topic title, it has that presupposition that you will get rich in stocks. the first step to that imho, is, knowing (half the battle is won, if u will)... and that is actually, a tall order."

(Aha! "knowing" is the bone of contention- ff)

"now, i can't begin to understand bjj's definition of "knowing"
she says it's not limited to understanding
but to me knowing one stock (micro) or knowing the stock market/trading as a whole (macro) is still knowing
and she concedes it's only half the battle"
- edited bec. she's superfemale

Conclusion: KNOWING that you will get rich in the stock market/trading is half the battle, the "push" for you to start knowing the meaning of terms like RISK, STOCK, and throwing around words like MACRO/MICRO ECONOMICS and TRADING.

>Puede rin na bjj is referring to that psycho. part in this yummy soup. If you know you don't have the ken (the cognizance, the mental perception, the mukh) to get rich in the stock market, what's the use of knowing and  "understanding the risk and are willing to take the risk" and knowing how to spell and pronounce micro/macroeconomics? One can actually do all the above (understand the words RISK,  MICRO/MACRO ECONMICS & TRADING---spell and pronounce them, too). But if you "know" you don't have it in you (the "to get rich in the stock market") because all you know is that people became poor because of it, people jumped from buildings because of it, people committed unbelievable acts of stupity because of it, atbp. ayyyy...hindi ka nga yayaman sa stocks.

In a nutshell, if you are a lilly-livered, chicken-hearted so and so( and you know it) , maski bestfren mo pa si miko at si siomai. kabarilan mo si bauer at spelunkster mo si TSO, wala lang. You didn't make a decision na yayaman ka sa stocks.

Trading = short time frame, 1-day or 1 week lang, paminsan mahaba na ang 1 month.
Investing = long time frame. 1 year minimum, umaabot pa ng 20+ years.

1. How to Read Stock Charts.
2. Exit Strategies.
3. Practice with play money first. Though from experience mas mabilis kang matututo kapag isabak mo na yung pera mo, hahaha.

Forums. Friends. Wherever.

As far as news is concerned, you want to study the news and see how it foreshadows events over the next four to six months. Having a reliable blogger to analyze non-financial/business information (e.g. politics, philosophy) will greatly help since you're ultimately operating within the social sphere.

People generally tend to act on "news" even if it has no bearing on the company's long-term future. This is a method of exploitation and is useful in attaining high rates of return.,

Additional newbie question for the veterans:  What is your average % annual return (in the Philippine stock market) since you started trading/investing?  Is there a national average released by the PSE?

^ 35% per year over three years. Compare to about 26 or so % for psei in same time frame.

Actual performance btw. Hindi time-weighted.

Not bad TSO!  :rakenrol: So here's the evidence na "pwede kang yumaman (or at least kumita ng malaki) sa stocks".  I wonder why most Filipinos do not invest in the stock market?  Is it because of the perceived risks involved or most people are simply not aware of the potential ROI or is there something else?

Get investments from other people and invest for them. Charge a management fee while you're at it. You will need at least 18M to turn this into a business you can live off of (2% Mgt Fee per year). GETTING that 18M is a whole different story and relies on a sound investment process, a solid track record, and a very strong network of friends with money.

is this legal?
