Megaworld to fully back Empire East’s P2.6B stock rights offering

MANILA, Philippines—Tycoon Andrew Tan-led Megaworld Corp. has committed to provide financial muscle to a P2.6-billion stock rights offering by its subsidiary Empire East Land Holdings Inc. (ELI), the unit tapped for a residential property venture with the Okada group in Pagcor City.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Wednesday, Megaworld said that it had committed to subscribe to all its rights offer entitlement and to any right offer shares not taken up by other shareholders.

“This will ensure that all 2.6 billion rights offer shares will be subscribed,” the disclosure said.

ELI plans to sell new stocks to existing shareholders at a ratio of one share for every four shares held at P1 per share. This will allow the company to raise about P2.6 billion from the rights offering.

ang tanong d2, when will they surpass the 1 petot in order to conduct an SRO of every 4:1 shares, all stories are there,the MEG to commit to ensure 2.6b share + the tapped from okada partnership.. and still beyond 1/share.

while the ghost month is being felt, which could trigger the investors to halt their action.. and stay @ watch mode , ELI could fruther delay their announcement on ex-date untill such time that the 1 petot will be supported..

untill then this is a good stock to watch its price action

I have observed the strategy of Mr. Andrew Tan in all of his publicly listed companies. Kapag may good news siya or business take off pansinin mo bigla na lang laging may stock rights offer or follow on offering. what does it mean?

The existing shares of stocks will be DILUTED again and again, and again.......

Mr. Tan is a very smart person who knows how to extract all the juices in the stock market. Siya ang unang nakikinabang sa stock movement ng kanyang sariling mga publicly listed companies. Ano ang natitira sa ibang shareholders? kung hindi scraps, eh wala halos.

MEG, Empire, Alliance, all are short term stock plays just the way the owner plays it to be.

I'm glad someone shares the same opinion.

I would also like to point out that this is just one of many signs that market is topping.

AC sales of treasury shares, market opening high but ending lower.

They are already billionaires and they got there by being shrewd.

Let us educate the small investors.

ELI's Shooting Star

Bearish Shooting Star candlestick yesterday was followed by a big red candle on today’s closing. Not a good sign. With the JV news already considered old, our only catalyst is the SRO which doesn’t have the approval yet. Does this mean the big houses are already tired of waiting?

ELI has been in a downtrend after it reach 0.92 last month. There were small spikes along the way but the price has dropped quite significantly from that day. There where also reversal indicators but wasn't confirmed the next day like the one we saw last August 10. If you have bought this during its rally maybe you have already a loss of more than 10% if you haven't averaged down or cut loss. Basing on the candlesticks, there is no indicator that it will reverse soon. For the Fibonacci retracement, the price has been below the 23.6% level since 2 weeks ago.

But observe that Kings Power Securities have been accumulating this one. From August 1 until last Friday, it has already bought 55M shares while they only sold 8.5M. Do they know something that we don’t know? Or they just acting as if they know something. Do they know something that we don't know? Or are they just acting as if they know something

The Harami Cross that we have seen last Thursday that would signal a reversal wasn't confirmed last Friday so I think more days to come with more dips. Probably there will be a rally during the day but generally this is still a downtrend. Also, the price breaks the support at the 38.2% Fibonacci Retracement level. If the price action tomorrow will form a bullish signal with good volume and above the current retracement level, maybe there will be a chance of going north. But for now, just brace yourself as the nose of the plane dips to the runaway.

Looks like ELI has already taxing the runaway at 38.2% Fibonacci Retracement level. But I think this will still have to go to its hangar before another voyage. I was waiting for an intraday rally but we didn't see one.

opps! ELI slipped and broke the support. We have given this stock 1 week to show its power. Have we seen all of it? Monday will be a big day for ELI. Big loss or big gain? You have the choice. It is good to monitor this stock tomorrow as to where the price will stop. Based on the broker transaction history from two weeks ago until today, most are holding there shares while the COL boys are selling. My I am still enjoying a comfortable average price so I might have a wait and see until Monday.

The large green candle today seemed to suggest that it is now going to move up. It broke the resistance at 23.6% level. Onward to piso? Let us see the movement tomorrow for some confirmations.
