Hi,

I just recently opened my own computer shop with 15 units...

So far on my first month, nag-gross ako ng 20thousand..minus all of the expenses..prior to this, ang naisip ko lang is around 10K.

Iba talaga basta hilig mo ang business.. i do all of the stuffs...networking/games installation/hardware/software
so managed ko ang lahat..

But then, every month I am paying 10K sa bank since part of my capital came from it. 1 year kasi ang terms ko. I got 100K loan to buy extra computers.

I still have a daytime job as a programmer which gives me continuous source of income pero parang gusto ko ung naging start ng business ko. Nakakatakot mag start ng business pero lakasan lang ng loob talaga and dahil sa magandang simula I get really optimistic..

Meron pa kasi akong bakanteng space dun sa harap ng nirerent kong shop.. anu pa kaya ang magandang business together with my shop? Another source of income that would jive hand in hand dun sa nasimulan ko na?

Any hints?

Hi Kithe/Kimerran,

I tried it with simple junk foods ang prob ko lang kasi..ung mga customer tends to eat sa harap ng computer... mejo nadudumihan ung led screen and ung computer mismo so pinagbawal ko muna...

But thatnks to your thoughts, I will try to re-evaluate these options...

sir loading bizz gamit yung pc mo vmobile have you heard of that im giving free retailer pm me for details..kasi alam ko may mga online games din need ng load which is good kasi all in one an po xa..

Good move of not quitting your job yet. That's what I advice people.

Now, 1 month ka pa lang so focus ka muna to have consistent grow of your sales.

Advice ko e, think about first on how to make your shop full from opening till closing.

Coffee/Cola and snack(chips) Dispenser at the side for quick snacks. Huwag ka maglalagay ng lutuan. Depende sa location mo at ano market segment at demographics ba nag rerent sayo. Bata, college, professional, tambay? Segment A, B or E? Pwede din PS3 o Xbox rental sa tabi. Don't make a business na sasapul sa core business mo. It should supoort your main business which is pc rental.

try mo e-loading and siomai/hotdog stand, lagyan mo din ng softdrinks.. pero sympre bawal mag kain sa harap ng computer, mag designate ka ng isang place kung saan lang sila pwede mag kain

i think free ang rent nya, and sabi nya sya lang nag asikaso.. sa 20k gross ba. magkano naging electric and water bill mo? and diba dapat meron costing sa lahat ng gastusin para mabawi mo mga nilabas mo

20k gross? did you break even?

Oo nga. May suweldo ka na dyan?

Yung frends ko naka 2-shifts. Sa araw, sa mga rental ng mga students, mga printing etc. Pag midnight onwards- tournament ng games daw. May premium na bayad para sa off-hours na operation. Usually,sa nag-organize ang taya.

sa computer shop din malakas ang printing, pinsan ko may computer shop din. minsan mas malaki pa ang kita sa printing kaysa rental ng pc most of the time kalahati ng kita nila sa printing nanggagaling

If near schools, try a photocopy business.
If not, I also agree on food/drinks, just make sure they are not allowed to eat inside.
Just put some chairs (no tables).
If the shop is full, they can eat outside while waiting.

Paanu ko na-reach ung ganung kita?? I will share it with you...

Eto ang cost ko na binayaran on my first month....and sa mga susunod pa...

Rent = 8500
Bayad sa nagbabantay = 2000
DSL = 3000
Kuryente = 9000
Etc = 1000
------------------------------
TOTAL = 23500

Ung pagkain ng bantay ko eh galing sa bahay..so kung anu ulam namen un din ang ulam nya..tipid!

Ang kita ng shop ko everyday eh nasa 1500...normal na ito.... but during weekend.. I peaked at 2300+...

1500 * 30 = 45000

45000 - 23500 = 20K+

When I started wala akong malaking kapital just 100K in my pocket, natakot akong umutang sa bank.... I have a previous thread na nastart ko dito about it and sinabi ko na lang sa sarili ko..di ko malalaman kung malulugi ako unless nagtry ako....

I didn't have a comprehensive business plan na sobrang detailed na 5 pages plus... I just started out with simple calculation kung magkano need ko to breakeven... the cost etc...

Also, I am a Gamer

I asked the kids kung anung game ang gusto nila and un ang iniinstall ko...so far meron na me mga loyal customer....

I wanted to somehow blog about how I started pero w8 ko pa ung 2nd month ko kung ganun pa ren ang kita ko.....

Now, I still have work na okay naman ang kita...pero excited akong umuwi lage to check on my business....plus libre na ung gaming time ko at di na ako nagbabayad sa NETOPIA....

Sarap palang mag negosyo pag hilig mo talaga hehehe..pero gusto ko pa ren mag stay sa office...nag FB lang pero kumikita pa ren hehehe...

Next year, pwede na siguro ako mag-asawa...nabilhan ko na ng 2 tricycle ang nanay at tatay ko at me business pa akong iiwan sa kanila na ung brother ko naman ang magmamanage na IT den.....

Mahirap maging breadwinner kasi and diabetic pa ang mga parents....so natagalan ako mag-asawa...lapit na kasi akong mag 30..hehehe...

Naisip ko ang maging lotto agent and sa ino-occupy kong space there's no lotto ... I am still trying to know the ins and outs of that business though...nagaaral pa lang kumbaga....
anybody have an idea about this?

Oooppsss.... I forgot to mention..

Ung 20K+ pala na kinita ko eh di ko nakuhang 20K talaga... kasi 10K eh binabayad ko sa bank....
so 10K lang talaga ang kinita ko...

Pero its a good thing kasi hindi na galeng sa kinikita ko sa daytime job ko ung pambayad....kundi sa business ko na ren...

I have read somewhere regarding how to start a business... nakalagay dun.. 'you should have a plan on how to repay your debt'..
ang una kong plan is ung kita ko sa pagiging programmer ang ibabayad ko...pero dahil kumita naman business ko sa unang buwan..sya na ang nagbayad...

Nadivide ko na ung 10K ko na natipid from daytime job:
5000 = Savings ko
5000 = Mutual Fund ko..
Next month magbibill naman ung Life Insurance ko sa Sunlife Flexilink...mag 4 years na me na nagbabayad...

Also, when starting the business... nanghiram ako ng extra kapital sa Pinsan ko na nasa Qatar.... kahit daw next year ko na bayaran and wala na daw tubo...swerte lang talaga!

Sana magtuloy tuloy na ito! Pa-ging ung beeper nang nasa itaas....
