The Philippine stock market has outperformed most other countries in the first half of 2012. Some say the PSEI can even reach 6000 this year! I see a lot of good press about the Philippine equity market and economy in general in CNBC, Bloomberg, and Forbes!

But some analysts say our market is already too expensive. And the troubles of the US, EU, and the China slowdown may finally affect us.

But what do you guys think? Are you still bullish in the long run about our country, or are you now bearish?

So am I! And so far, I see no reason to worry. But, usually, when everyone is bullish, then everybody has already bought, and so the pricing is already at a PEAK. I hope the international fund managers would buy into our market more. I think we still have a lot of appreciation ahead of us...but I could be wrong...

OUCH! But how deep a correction do you foresee? At what level would you start buying again?

Thanks for the warning, cuz I still have funds in moneymarket and am waiting and hoping for some more correction!

I could be wrong, of course, but--worst case scenario--methinks it COULD retrace to the level it reached last yearend.

always be wary sa kung ano nababasa/nakikita nyo sa tri-/quad-media.

wala pong isang sagot sa tanong nyo. the answer lies in your personal time horizon, risk profile & strategies.

Technical analysis- wise, some key areas to watch sa PSEi near-term/mid-term ay kung ano gagawin ng price sa 4800-4900, 5100, 5300.
mas bigyan pansin nyo ang nangyayari sa presyo ng commodities, important indices (Dow Jones, S&P 500; China/Australia/Japan indices; UK FTSE, German DAX indices), instead of yung mga balita.

for me it will be sideways until the end of August then it will be bullish on the "BER" months...

hi RP,

sideways upward up to third quarter. sideways downward by the end of this year and maybe first 2 quarters of 2013. as i said, we are not too far from the US market.

Ano ba yan, all time high na naman!

Also, according to Bloomberg, we are the best perfoming index in Asia(and maybe the world?) in 2012, and our peso appreciated the highest too.

We've also been upgrade by S&P to just one more level below investment grade!

But CNBC warns that we're already too expensive relative to the rest of Asia.

So, are guys buying or selling?
