Anyone here into Options trading?
« on: Jun 29, 2012, 02:48 PM »
I've been seeing online options trading ads almost everywhere.

From the looks of it, parang online sabong po kasi ang dating nya sa akin, parang sugal kasi. Safe po ba mag-invest dito?

thanks in advance.

maybe i'll do some more research before jumping into the pond. malaki nga ang pwedeng i-gain pero malaki din ang risk.
nagregister kasi ako sa 24options.com, nagulat na lang ako nung isang araw nung tawagan nila ako. mejo na curious lang din, baka kasi mamaya magstart ako magtrade tapos manipulated pala charts nila.:hihi:

For me i would want to focus first on trading before i jump into options trading.. a lot of big banks got into trouble like jpmorgan 2B loss. To have such huge a loss and expertise i think you should have in depth knowledge and a huge risk appetite. This is not to discourage you because I would want to know how to trade derivatives too but if simple trading (not really simple after all!!!) i can't constantly make money then i won't even attempt this more complex trade.. If you have any discoveries in the subj matter please post! thanks.

What makes trading options harder, compared to spot forex,  IMO is that you have the TIME factor to take into consideration.

I might, for instance, correctly predict a strike price but if that price isn't reached within the expiry date, I'd have lost my stake. With spot forex, there's no such deadline within which to achieve your profit target.

Experience it. Suggest you to use bbinary than 24option. And go with the trend if you are betting.

Post Merge: Jul 28, 2012, 12:02 PM
eto pala tips:

1. Bet on london opening/ US opening time.
2. Possible to bet little amount on monday & friday, or avoid betting at this day.
3. Avoid betting when there's a news coming. You can see news at forexfactory.com
4. Use technical analysis ( i use candlestick, MACD, stohalistics)
5. Bet on a 30 min time frame.
6. Be patient when entering trade.
7. Use money management strategy.

I agree! Since option trading is completed within minutes. Time was my worst enemy.

Warning: this is a DERIVATIVE. Options are normally derived from stocks (unless you've enough to afford the options/forwards based on commodities, indices, or something), and they can be very lucrative.

If you're good in stocks, you can make money on options. Best of all, the returns can be significantly higher and you can use them to supplement your income in the short-term. This is actually one of the strategies I pursue in the US, which I started learning thanks to my partner. XD

Tips:

1. READ, READ, READ!!!
2. Options and high-beta stocks + news = win.
3. AVOID "naked" positions. Unless you've the money, you WILL NOT be able to afford an exercise of shares. Each contract is equivalent to 100 shares.
4. Technical analysis: support and resistance level should be fine. That's what I use.
5. Fundamental analysis: more important. Focus on the tree, not the leaves it produces.

In the case of equity options, your "risk" is purely market risk in the short run, unless you're gunning for the long-term options (called LEAPS, an acronym whose meaning I actually forgot lol).

It can be outright safe if you know what you're doing. ^^

I've been seeing online options trading ads almost everywhere.

From the looks of it, parang online sabong po kasi ang dating nya sa akin, parang sugal kasi. Safe po ba mag-invest dito?

ako din I recently tried binary options trading.. profitable sya kung alam mo kung anong ginagawa mo.. but until now, hindi pa rin ako masyadong marunong.. gusto ko sana maging serious trader but since i'm still a noob, ang sakit sa ulo. hehe.. sa stock pair ako nagregister. ok naman sila. real time naman yung values ng mga assets. mabilis din sila mag withdraw..

good starting point is Natenberg's book on option pricing and volatility...

i'm starting on it....call's and put's, strike price etc. :hihi:

libro ba ito or ebook? san kaya ako makakabili nito?

eto pala tips:

3. Avoid betting when there's a news coming. You can see news at forexfactory.com
4. Use technical analysis ( i use candlestick, MACD, stohalistics)
5. Bet on a 30 min time frame.

chineck ko yung forexfactory.com, ok kasi may live candlestick sila.. do you know where can i get info on the technical analysis na ginagamit m?

Tips:

4. Technical analysis: support and resistance level should be fine. That's what I use.
5. Fundamental analysis: more important. Focus on the tree, not the leaves it produces.

It can be outright safe if you know what you're doing. ^^

ako din support and resistance level ang strategy ko.. kaya lang minsan sablay ako.. ano yung Fundamental analysis? where can i get more info on that? swerte at your partner already knows binary trading kaya you have someone to guide you.. sana ako makameet din ng someone na makakahelp sakin with options trading. hehe

as with any trading... dapat may magandang "system" ka para magtagumpay ka (profitable).

I use a 50-50-1 system and Im not limited to it... but youre free to use any systems thats out there.

Options trading is a very profitable business kung alam mo syempre ang ginagawa mo :)

So I suggest you pick a 'system'. study it and master it if you want to be profitable in this business  :watchuthink:

Experience it. Suggest you to use bbinary than 24option. And go with the trend if you are betting.

bbinary's minimum deposit is $500, while 24options is just $250.

Karamihan ng mga option trading plaftorms na nakita ko ay merong "trader's insight" or "trader's trend."

optionsbit, empireoptions, bbinary options,

Parang they want you to just go with the flow of the bet of the majority, and something's not right there. IMO

My suggestion is to learn to trade first. For that, go to babypips.com. It will be suicide, imo, to trade binary options without learning the basics.
