Actually, legal o ilegal, me chance na mas malaki kitain ng bago kesa sa mga nasa taas nya.  Depende yan sa kanyang "Sales Skills" or sa dami ng kanyang downline.
Take for example a binary system (ito yung me left at right o "pairing").  Yung nauna sayo madami nga downline pero karamihan nasa left.  e ung bago mas onti pero evenly shared ang "pairing", sa scenario na ito mas malaki kikitain nung baguhan.
My former co-worker earns more (much more) than the one who recruited her.

Since you are pro-networking, maybe you can provide actual experience or share some ideas about it.
Let us avoid scenarios that are not related.

I don't see how those scenarios provide awareness to MLM at all.

How do I know this?
I little research. Please research on "binary" system of MLM.
Then you will understand.

Let me give just a simple example:
1) Person A and Person B.  Person A recruited Person B.
2) Person B recruited Person C and Person D.
3) Person A earned 100php by recruiting Person B.
4) Person B earned 200 php by recruiting both (PLUS) Person B also earned 10,000php since Person C and Person B formed a "pair".
5) On this example. Person A total downline is 3 and Person B total downline is just 2 yet Person B earned more then Person A.

I hope that helps.  Same applies to legal MLMs who uses binary system.

Sorry, I do understand your question.
The answer is NO.  And if I find out that any of my relatives plan to join one, I will stop them.  I gave that example for you.  Because if I answered a YES or NO quesiton, what's next?  That way you will be educated.

With that example it helps you and other forumers understand how it works.

Chinese government philosophy does not jibe with the MLM philosophy.. Same with the Arab countries.. But there are many many Chinese outside China who are involved in MLMs..

But I know that MLM is allowed in Hong Kong. 
My aunt (a Chinese woman), buys MLM products in Hong Kong.
