I think almost every thing is being buy now by Pinoy..

Nope. Ang sasabihin sayo, "It's not the same".

^You have a breakdown on  what section people buy? Methinks we eat too much too often.

One person at a time ang "conversion", spidey. You will be opening yourself to inggit, lait and overall crab mentality.

Sadly, most of the pinoys are financial illiterate. Educational Institutions taught their students on how to become an employee not to become an investor. This is the reality... and we can't deny this fact.

I agree.

Hindi ba yun itinuturo sa mga business courses? nasa medical field kasi ako and the only thing i learned in college was simple economics and business ethics. But in depth discussions on bonds, stocks, commodities, indices, forex, mf,uitf, wtf, etc., hindi talaga.

Sisisihin ko din siguro ang pagbagsak ng ilang kilalang pre-need companies like CAP, kasi i think for those who are financially illiterate (like me, i admit), a pre-need or insurance is a form of investment, kaya siguro umayaw na din ako sa ibang types of investments.

I couldn't agree more, stockbreaker.
Schools are teaching children how to memorize instead of free thinking.
Parents either too busy at work and don't teach their children the true value of money. Palagi lang, give ng give - allowance here, allowance there without having to work for it.

To any parents here, I highly suggest you read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

Very interesting data, I must say.
In my opinion, the attitude & knowledge of saving, investing & building wealth should be "caught" not "taught". Even if one studies business administration or economics course, iilan ba ang nag iinvest at yumayaman? most of them will work as managers for wealthy people. Yun kasi ang mindset nila. Only few will be brave enough to try, fail, try & fail again, and eventually suceed.
What we need is a mentor. Someone who does not only know but also practices saving & investing. But where do we find our mentor? Usually they are our parents or relative, sometimes they are good friends who doesnt mind sharing the pie. You see how they do things on a daily basis, then u "catch" & learn. Problem is, what most filipinos "catch" are the happy go lucky attitude of their surroundings. And another sad fact, sometimes a "mentor" comes to teach u how to invest, only to find out later, na scam ka na pala...
If I were an employee right now. I will work hard & learn everything I can about my boss' business. Sa araw araw na biz operation, I will be curious & learn. Pag ready na ako. I will try to set up my own biz na mejo malayo-layo ang location sa former boss ko out of respect. Sabi nga ng Rich Dad Poor Dad, "work to learn, not to earn".
