^don't worry po. i did not buy EG just because you posted it in another thread. i did some reaserch in PSE and visit their website. and i will (or will not) sell EG (or any of my future stocks) unless for profit or strategic positioning...

Dont worry RDS i will keep you posted on EG (just check the thread). I will also announce in case i decide to sell my stock position.

I am on network marketing. It's like investment. A little amount of money put in pero malaki naman naibabalik sakin. Yung company na ito international 30 yrs na and 15 yrs dito sa Pinas. Hindi boring kc pwede kang mag qualify for vacations and you will meet more likely persons.

just find ways to make a bit of changes in your routine activities para hindi sya maging "routine"

routine = boring

I find investing a hobby, and a challenge. Hopefully I get "bored" someday (siguro when I accumulate a net worth that can sustain at least three generations :))

Boring? Mashadong negative naman ang conotation. But it takes PATIENCE in investing, lalo na if you're going for the long hold/long term.
While others na nakaka-flip ng +8% or more sa portfolio nila per day, burned out naman.

I guess mas challenging or "exciting" kung ang iniisip mo kung saan ka kukuha ng pambayad.

INVESTING IS BORING KUNG WALA KANG PANLARO!!!

again please, investment is not 'panlaro'.

once it becomes a 'GAME', your capital will be at huge risk.

^ watch it! you just lost 1 degree of your cool  :D I can picture you wagging a finger, " Language, children!"

Anyway, I did get bored---on months on end. So bad that my accounts just sat there absolutely still. I didn't have the right kind of boring.

Would you repeat the saying about investing in stocks being a hobby........ methinks i lost my perspective regarding that.

That's according to RK's rich dad.

these recent days i'm bored of so many things:
bored of 5-day/9-hour job (i'm burned out, paulit-ulit na trabaho).
bored of looking at PSE website (it doesn't make any difference).
bored of reviewing my past and planned expenses/budget (walang ka challenge2).
bored of looking at my stocks portfolio (still not looking good).
bored at reading and posting in PMT...

is it a sign that i'm "IN" on investing or I just lost enthusiasm in investing?

do you agree that "Investing is boring"?

Maybe its not really what you want in life. Sometimes we take on things because our friends are doing it, its the "in" thing to do, or just plain simple that it makes us money. But really its not really our passion, its a heavy word, so lets simplify it and make it what you really want to do. I learned this when I was selling computers, after a while I found the work tiring and quite frankly boring. Even if I made decent money on it. So I gave it up. Life is to short to be doing things that you are not passionate about. Try to discover your passion early in life. Try different things and don't allow yourself to be boxed up. You know its your passion when the work comes easy to you, you are very good at what you do, you don't get tired of it and would be excited enough waking up each day wanting to do that kind of work for as long as you can. If you can find it, then the money will just come along believe me. So rds, don't fret, go find your passion right now.

some people see it as a game and a challenge so they don't get bored.
and they have lots of money to spare. first rule is to never invest all of your money.

you're right gig, but it's not easy. i know that the major reason why i got bored in my work is not work itself but that my work place is far from "home". and leaving my job right now means loosing a steady and BIG monthly income. so i have to weigh things, i can sacrifice a couple more of years of doing things which is not my passion, in exchange of doing nothing other than my passion thereafter, some kind of delayed gratification.

^fund manager...of his own funds. baka sa sobrang dami ng magandang mapagpipilian, binili na lahat to save trouble from deciding what to buy.

tsaka, domoble ang type ng PHN kaya 19 na lang. what's PHN anyway?

GIG,

A lot of my friends have the same reaction. I think I reached my limit though, roundabout 20 stocks is what I consider comfortable. One time it got over 25 stocks and I felt a little pressure from monitoring and updating their FS, right there and then I realized I need to pare down my portfolio to a manageable stress free level. Having said that, I think the portfolio remains focus as I have a single stock that is 25% of my portfolio and around 4 stocks making up the core of the portfolio. As you can see all of them are not value stocks. I've had some miss steps here and there hehehe, but it got to where it is by not opting to sell. I remembered sitting beside one "Chinese-Filipino lola" in a stock market seminar telling me that she does not sell stocks, she just buys and keep them. That time I thought she was clueless, but now, I think she may have wisdom after all. I'd like to qualify the last part, buy excellent businesses on the cheap and keep them forever.

erratum: As you can see not all of them are value stocks . . . instead of  . . .  all of them are not value stocks . . .

must be age hehehe!
