sa mga husbands: suppose u are earning pretty decent naman but wife is young (let's say 20's parin) and on top of career, would u rather ask her to stay home since you can provide naman? i would appreciate if you can share din your personal experiences :)

or sa mga wives na/ wives to be: which one would you prefer - to be a homemaker or continue working?

of course it will depend on circumstances, like kids and finances, or work at home options.. lets keep it on a high-level lang without much considerations.

thanks in advance!!

^yap yap...

kung wla pang babies e tamang lang sigurong pagpatuloy niya career nya..pero kung may babies na, sympre para sakin dapat housewife na sya since sabi mo nga I have decent pay naman na....Mas masarap para sa isang asawang uuwing may mag aalga sa knya after work at  yung alam mong ang mga anak mo is kasama ng kanilang mommy...
be happy with what you have, while working for what u want..a happy successful life begins with a "thank you Lord for what i have!"

Try natin baligtarin. If say the wife earns more & can support you & the kids pretty easily. Would you allow yourself to be a houseband?

Try to put yourself in your lady's shoe 1st & hear what she has to say about it. I won't force her to quit her job, especially if she's enjoying it. Setting up a home based business would hit 2 birds in one stone for her. 3 including the husband's birdie =p

in her 20s at the top of her career?
highly improbable. what kind of career would that be for someone in her 20s?
being on top of one's career means being just that... no further career advancement

Hey u guys, thanks for the responses! Keep it coming:)

Yes low probability (or highly improbable as u said) but possible :) after all, 20's does not mean 21.

being on top of one's career means being just that... no further career advancement

Ooopps sorry i did not notice this. Although top of one's career may be subjective - i'd rather correct it for the sake of clarity :) assuming late 20's and has an established career. How bout that? :) now, back to topic ;)

I like ^! Do you, guys, have any idea how mind-numbing childcare and housework can be?

The last couple i had contact with had this set-up. Husband went part-time (RN-UK, 3 days 12 hr. shift instead of 5 full days) so that wife can get out of the house and do part-time work at mcdo as a food server, with much less take home pay. The purpose of the whole exercise is to keep the wife sane. Dahil before that, the husband would call home, and the wife(RN din) will be crying all the time while minding the family---3 kids ages 8, 5 and 3. Boy ang panganay. Makapagbihis lang si misis at may makausap na people above 4 feet tall  :D Very good mannered  da children dahil siguro ang tyaga ng tatay nila. And they were here for treatment kasi, let's just say they have the  gf/bf ( I get to call married couples the gf/bf when it is apparent their bedroom door still gets locked for privacy) going on nicely.

Mas madali siguro dito sa atin, either fulltime homemaker o may career si misis, kasi may extended family to depend on sometimes, and help is relatively inexpensive.

in that situation...
yes, stay at home sya.
ayoko sya mapagod. nakakapagod ang stress sa office at pagbyahe/commute, among other possible 'external issues'.
may house helper para may katulong sya sa bahay.

& i would find a home-based business for her, or at least make her busy with hobbies. para d sya ma-bore sa bahay.
sa panahon ngayon, almost any kind of office work have online/home-based alternatives.

in her 20s at the top of her career?
highly improbable.
probably on top of her career, at the moment/based on her perception.

I like ^! Do you, guys, have any idea how mind-numbing childcare and housework can be?
there is no rule that says dads cannot be involved in childcare :D

in this case, it was their fault. bad population management. :D

as a wife, mas prefer ko pa rin na working ako, or at least nagmamanage ng business, kasi eversince im working na eh, so i think its hard for me kung mapending ako sa bahay.. and okay na rin siguro na we are both making/earning money, not only to provide sa family's needs but also for our self na rin. yun lang.

maybe an artista, model or in the entertainment industry?

Prostitute. clue words "on top of one's career".
Most of the time they have to be on top, and majority of those who hire them have a career.
so, on top of one's career actually means prostitute.
and still in her 20's I think that is mandatory in her industry the younger the better.

I believe I have friends in those situation.
where they have to stay home to tend to the child and are known as houseband.
they have to take care of the child while watching nba and drinking beer.
and their wives actually have a job.
It is more important to know where you are going than to get there quickly. Do not mistake activity for achievement.

hello alone! :) meron ding nagsabi na isang guy, iba din daw pag may work ang wife kasi daw minsan pag walang work or house lang sya, kung ano-ano naiisip and mas malaki tendency sobrang i-monitor ang husband.
