I'm sorry AIG was rescued by the US government. Lehman brothers was allowed to fail. selective rescue as usual, politics included.

I believe that Governments (or States for that matter) has a symbiotic relationship with important banks in their respective turfs.

AIG failed and rescued. Lehman failed and closed. Still they did fail and in American Capitalist Business Sense - Nationalization of a private company is already categorically failed

AIG was not 'nationalize'. my definition of nationalization is an operation of a business entity completely own by the public or government.

AIG was allowed to borrow from the government thru TARP with corresponding interest and pledge collaterals.

In paper I agree but the government is calling the shots on the salary of AIG personnels.. They may not control it operationally but the chilling reality that they are on the thumbs of US Federal Government.
