My company is involved with the engineering work for both this sector. Market capitalization really varies on each company's requirement, what I meant is that either they will setup an onshore processing facility or not. Mining mainly ships out their laterite and start building purification facilities once the they have accumulated signficant amount of low yield.
Stock wise....both are really volatile. If you know how read the charts right, you'll profit on both well (i.e. DIZ, NI,UNI,OV)

Tiis lang sa PCOR.. Pagdating ng 2014 baka magsisi kayo kasi binenta nyo yung murang stock niyo.. Commissioning ng isa sa pinaka-malaking milestone sa balat ng Philippine Industrial Era ang magaganap. Ang Petron Refinery na ang magiging pinaka "mukha ng Petrochemical Imdustry ng Southeast Asia"..

Petron refinery? the best by 2014? really?

yun nga lang pagbili nila ng raw materials nahihilo na sila due to very volatile prices of crude oil sa world market. pati yung refinancing nila ng old debts problema rin. may pera pa kaya sila sa refinery improvement?

San galing yung info na to? I'm with oil & gas design firm, unless the naptha cracker facility will push thru, things may change for the petrochem business in the country. Ph already have 2 petrochem facilities closed up because cost of raw mats against product is not profitable to operate.
Btw, Petron is a refinery, with the new FCCU and PRU this are still mainly for the main product of the company.

(Financial Times) -- Oil prices surged on Friday as the UN's nuclear watchdog said Iran had significantly increased its production of higher-grade uranium over the past six months and had failed to dispel concerns that it was pursuing atomic weapons.

From CNN, I believed Fridays news for them.
Should we expect oil firm to sky rocket?
